Time when Original Factory Warranty ends and CPO Begins?
Mercedes Original Factory warranty is 4 years or 50,000 miles. CPO warranty offers 1 year and unlimited miles.
CPO Warranty says "Every Mercedes-Benz Certified Pre-Owned (MBCPO) vehicle comes with exceptional peace of mind. For starters, it's covered by any remaining portion of the Mercedes-Benz 4-year/50,000 mile* New Vehicle Limited Warranty." "*Whichever comes first"
My understanding of that wording is that as soon as the vehicle hits 50k the original factory warranty is over. That would mean that If I purchased the car today by next month the original warranty would most likely be over and the 1 year CPO warranty will kick in.
The dealer is telling me thats not the case, and that the original warranty will cover till 8/17 and CPO will kick in till 8/18. Effectively offering an unlimited millage warranty till 8/18. I contacted one of the people listed in this forum about extended CPO warranty pricing for the additional years and he stated the same thing.
Does that sound legit?
Second part to this question is that how does Mercedes know when the milage limit for the original warranty is exceeded? Looks like this vehicle would not be due service till around 8/16. If the vehicle would come in then for service with 58k in miles would they just stop the warranty in terms of time then? Anyone have experience with this?

If it is a cpo car it has the original 4 year or 50000 mile coverage. Cpo gives another year, but takes to unlimited mileage. You can also buy an extra one or two years. As example, your 2013 was in service 1/2013. Your cpo warranty takes you to 1/2018 and unlimited miles. If elected to buy the extra two years ($25-3500) you would be covered until 1/2020 with unlimited miles. If you drive a lot of miles this is an unbelievable value for such protection.
The CPO is only an inclusionary policy, you want an exclusionary policy, it gives you more power in getting repairs accepted. I have 100% claims acceptance on my policies, majority being Mercedes Benz, Land Rovers, Bentleys, and Ferraris.
