OEM Carbon Fiber W204 Grill for C Class

For sale is a carbon fiber grill for W204 C class. I recently purchased this grill on ebay for my 2010 C63 but ended up trading it in before I even got to put it on my car. The grill is in excellent shape with no broken mounting tabs or anything. The only thing that needs attention is the Mercedes emblem. The previous owner had it painted black and now it has rock chips and needs to be repainted. I have included detailed pictures of them emblem.

Here is an excerpt from the ebay ad with more details about the grill:

I AM OFFERING A MERCEDES BENZ OEM AUTHENTIC CARBON FIBER GRILLE,

THIS GRILLE WAS PURCHASED FROM REVOZPORT, YOU CAN SEE THEIR PRODUCTS ON THEIR WEBSITE

I PAID $1190.00 USD + $80.00 FOR SHIPPNG TO CANADA FOR A TOTAL COST OF $1270.00

IT FITS A 2011 MERCEDES BENZ 2011 C63 SEDAN

THERE ARE A FEW SMALL PAINT CHIPS ON THE CENTER STAR, I COVERED THEM WITH A BLACK MARKER

FOR THE PICS, THE STAR WAS ORIGINALLY PAINTED BY REVOZPORT BUT THEY JUST QUICKLY SPRAYED IT TO MEET MY REQUEST

The full ad can be seen here : http://www.ebay.com/itm/370958562035...84.m1497.l2649

Here are my pictures that I took:

I would like to sell the grill for exactly what I have in it, $500 plus shipping. The price I paid is clearly stated in the ebay link above, so I am not trying to profit in any way. I just want this thing gone!

So you're the one ending up buying this grill.

I and other members found it to be in poor condition. Nevertheless for DIYers and at the right price this could be a great deal

Ah it would appear I did.... My new 2014 C63 507 will be here thursday, so if this is in fact a facelift grill I will be keeping it! And to tell you the truth, this grill really is in damn good condition. The only thing that needs work is the Mercedes emblem, and I detailed the damage to it as thoroughly as my camera would allow. A simple repaint of the emblem will have this grill looking flawless. The carbon is in perfect condition and there is not a single scratch anywhere else on the grill that I have noticed. With that having been said, who can point me to a thread about how to take off that stupid Mercedes emblem?

It's been a while since i wrapped my grill. But what i remember removing the star has to be done first from the back. You would need to turn slightly the plastic just behind it. It will unlock somehow and from that point i think you'll be able to see the tabs of the star.
Sorry no pictures to illustrate but it is straight forward once you understand how to remove the back of the star.

Just did as much research as possible and honestly it kinda seems like the grill isn't meant to come apart on our cars. This experience you are referring to, it was on your 09 C63?

Yes it was for my 09 sedan. I did it back in January almost a year ago and it took me time to figure it out. But definitely the star can be apart from the grill as well as the OEM chrome piece on the grill.

Bump....... I have confirmed that this grill is in fact for the face lifted cars. I have decided not to keep it since my car is leased and doesn't have any other carbon on it. I have not repainted the Mercedes emblem, so that will still need to be done in order to have this looking flawless. Or you an just use it as is, you really can't see the chips unless you're right up on it. $500+ shipping!
