Gonna try to remove the center console and hope I can see them from there and try to replace them...Last night I took out the front passenger seat to gain access to rear SAM (parasitic draw) and to try to find out where a damaged cable that I found near the negative side of the battery plugs into (not pictured).
During my disassembly, I ran into this 25 pin connector and this optical looking connection as well, I assume it somehow supports the voice command unit? Did you runt into these cables during your disassembly? and are they something to worry about not being connected? I figure you know the car in and out by now lol....

Hello
Here are a few pictures I took of that area when I was taking my stuff apart. Maybe this will be helpful. I don't know exactly what each plug does but this is what I had.

Based on the location I think Wolfman is right so I wont worry about...
I promise last question (for now), how did you get those little yellow wire terminal connectors disconnected? I've used a small safety pin in hopes I can disengage its locking mechanism but I'm having a bit of a hard time removing them, very similar to the one on the illuminated door sill and sure don't want to force and brake them off...
thanks!

I don't mind the questions...
I think I used a small, thin flat head screwdriver, something you would use for eye glass repair. If you slide it in-between where they meet, you should be able to get it to release.

Piece by piece it's coming together.
All of the fender liners are installed.
Also installed front brush guard. At first I wasn't sure if I was gone going to install it but after installing it I really like the look 👍

Looks good man. At the dealer yesterday saw six G's. Three new and three used plus a 4X4. One G550 was Palladium silver so I got a preview of your finished product. Looks awesome.

Part number for the back door rubber seals that go around the hinges is: 4607430178
All 4 are the same.
They just pull out and you push the new ones back in. I used a little bit of silicone to help them slide in easier. Then you would want to adjust them a little bit to make sure they lay straight, snug and even.

Thanks for posting the hinge seal part number, the sun baked two of mine already so im just going to order all four.
I know were all here to see the progress of your vehicle but I wanted to ask you, a couple weeks ago I replaced the battery and while doing so I found a set of disconnected cables in a terminal block laying inside the little opening just to the negative side of the battery . My first thought was from something near the rear SAM although nothing seemed to be malfunctioning or no dash messages. I opened up the center console in efforts to locate the missing plug and nothing to my surprise. Also, looking at the length of the wires, it would be impossible to connect to something behind the SAM as they are not long enough, the other option would be that the cables are part of the cable runs coming from the black protected channel but because of the bigger size of the terminal block it just doesn't make sense that the cables would have come out from there.
I have attached some pics below as I hope that maybe you might have some insight on this one. I'm also wondering if maybe this is a connection to an option that was not initially purchased on the vehicle and it was just "left" alone....
Im sorry to heist you thread!!
This is where i found the cable. You can see the acid damage from the bottom and the cable block.
Location of cable for reference.
This is how far the cables go if I pull them towards the SAM
I thought the cable would maybe run and connect like this under the cover but the block is too big to fit through the openings at the end close to the grounds.

Ill check on my car to see if I see something similar.
Could be just a plug that was not used on your vehicle. I have seen few plugs on my car as well that are just not used.

Hey Kobzar, amazing thread so far and really interesting to read and follow along. I was wondering if you had gotten to the hazard portion of your dash yet? I'm looking to do the same upgrade and have found both the radio and climate control parts but haven't had any luck finding the hazard button switch block aside from one on eBay that would cost 900 for both the switch block and wood. I've checked OEM parts websites but they all state the part is discontinued. I haven't yet called my local dealership because they charge an astronomically high price over market but if need be ill try it. Thanks for being so willing to answer questions and I cant wait until your car is buttoned up and ready to drive!

Hello
Thank you
Yes, the hazard button switch block for 2008-2012 G-wagon is very hard to come by. They are unique to G-wagon due to the rear wiper switch. I had trouble finding one as well, but a while back I found one in Germany and had it shipped to me.
I think I paid around $250 for mine.
Wood trim will fit from any 2004-2007 W203.

Tonymeza55: I looked on my car and I do not see a 3 wire plug in that area that is coming out from the underneath the wire harness cover.

For some reason, I thought of you and your interior when I was doing my regular quarterly cleaning.
have you thought about the seat/leather maintenance for your interior color?

Nice color!
I typically wipe my seats down with a damp microfiber when I wash and vacume.
Didn't really think much more of it.
I might treat it with a light conditioner once in a while.... I don't like to put or use much product on the leather.

I was planning to use a W203 in-dash crate that holds the comand unit in place (your post #144 at page 6) and W203 trim, but then I found out that these trim and crate have different clamping on top.
The W463 trim has two fasteners on top and it looks like this:
But the W203 one has two screws on top and it's like this:
I hope I'll be able to fit them anyway, perhaps with a little modification.
Did you already find a solution?
Since it's difficult to find the W463 button switch block at reasonable price, I'm thinking to use W203 model and add two buttons following this thread

PS: thanks again for the detailed info about OEM xenon headlights upgrade!
