2002 G500 build/ restoration/ conversion photo thread

i am since G500 did not come with any.
its going to be just like on 2013+ G-wagons on doors. I will also add strips under the dash to have some glow towards the feet.

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
I've taken off what I think is most of the screws but there are some that seem as though they are meant to be taken out from behind. do you know if its possible to remove this bracket and install a new one without removing the dash and would it be possible for you to post photos of the mounting points on the stock bracket? Thanks in advance. (this is the new bracket I'm intending to install FYI)

I don't see any other way of removing it.

Im talking to a dealer to see if they sell this crate for 2007-2012 G-wagon which came with mid facelift interior.
Worst case, I will have to modify the one I have so the newer style radio fits in to the opening.

Did not expect it to be this complicated but with time and patience I think its doable.
I already started the process and will post pics when im finished.
Dash also need to be trimmed a little bit on the top in order for the W203 crate to fit....

This was a failed attempt in wrapping this dash. Long story, but basically all of the stitching was shrunken and it was a nightmare trying to stretch the stitching, laying the leather and making sure every point hits its mark. I had to heat the lather up and pull it so hard that couple of the stitches popped. I got it done but it looks bad (in my opinion), not to my standard, not to the door panels standard. I wasn't going to put it in after spending so much time and putting so much effort in to this restoration.
I purchased another dash and the upholstery guy is re-stitching the leather on a RUSH. Should be ready next week : )
