That headliner looks GREAT !!! In my experience the final phase can be tedious because everything you do is now going to show in the finished product. Careful, detailed work. Bring it home man!
Engine swap is not a priority right now, first I want to finish the car completely, drive it. Make sure everything is put back together properly.
I am actively looking for a donor vehicle hopefully somewhere local so I don't have to deal with the shipping cost. So it's something that's on the back of my mind but not a priority.
To each their own I guess but think the G500 motor has more than sufficient power for this truck.
I do like the US spec 2012+ G550's exhaust rumble though - if I had an M113 powered G500, I would try to find this used or new (https://g-classpartsdirect.com/produ...ystem-g-wagon/). I feel like it would sound real nice on the N/A M113!
Can't wait to see your finished G500 and thanks for sharing the progress! Are you on instagram by any chance?
Rear camera looks awesome. What camera did you use? I have the same project planned, but I was concerned about the angle, it looks like yours is adjustable.
On a side note. I reached out to MB Atlanta about the Hazard switches (for the guys on here that were asking), they have them for around $400 with wood. Call the parts desk for more info,
I purchased backup camera from ebay, just search (backup camera 360), original housing and rubber seal. I then made a hole for the camera larger so this camera pops in to place.
Its going to be interesting to see what it will end up showing on the screen when its all connected.

some say the exhaust of the 4x4² fits like p&p and its dirt cheap compared to the one from above seller
Assembled 5th door interior trim
Attached rear facing cam
Installed 5th door seal
Tried to see how the rear cargo carpet is laying so I can see where the subwoofer will need to sit under the rear seat. This G500 did not come with a subwoofer, but the carpet I purchased has a cut out for a subwoofer under rear seat. Im going to see if I can get one from W221 to work out for me.

Subwoofer from w221 installed. Made small covers from quarter inch plywood to cover the sides. Wrapped them in vinyl but screw them in before the glue dried so twisted the vinyl a little bit. No big deal, it will be covered by the carpet.
