Would you happen to have the part number for the smaller pieces of grip tape on the rear bumper step pads? I found that 4638850190 is for the larger pieces, but haven't found the part number for the smaller ones at the back edge of the pad. Thank you!

I don’t know the part number, I actually made one myself from one of those grip tapes they sell in the store for home use (for steps)

Good work. Are you thinking about keeping it?

No, the entire front axle is from 2015 G63 with only 15,000 miles. Everything is like new still.
This is why I’m removing the hubs in order to drill a larger hole for the original 2002 ABS sensor. 2015 (newer) sensors are thinner and are not communicating with the car.

Makes sense. Was there anything tricky or difficult about removing the swivel hubs? Or just unbolt everything and it removes easily? I have the special axle nut tool in prep for having to do this in the future, just looking for any mental notes.
Do you know how many miles you've driven this G after you finished the rebuild a few years back?

Yeah exactly, I just unbolt, everything and it slid off. There was no tool needed. It just came off by itself. I believe I put maybe 3000 miles on a car since rebuilding it maybe 4000 miles.

Just went through this entire thread and all the photos and I gotta say I’m thoroughly impressed!! Seems like a big undertaking and you’ve done an amazing job at it.
I was wondering if you were swapping out the factory side marker lamps for LEDs? If so, would you be interested in selling me the OEM side marker lamps? I have LED ones on mine that a previous owner installed and I’m trying to go back to all stock parts/lights. They’re backordered/discontinued on Mercedes and I can’t find them anywhere. Fourbyfourclub just sold the last of the wiring harnesses that I need unfortunately. Let me know and we can work something out!

Sounds good, thank you! You can send me a PM if you end up finding them. If you have four of the wiring harnesses that’s really all I need. I think I can find the reflectors pretty easily. But obviously if you have everything I’ll take it!

Hello everyone
My G500 is back on the market and is FOR SALE.
I was not able to get the fuel gauge to work with the new 2010 cluster so original style cluster is going back in and Im going to be selling the new one that I purchased from the dealer and has been on my car since the restoration.
My asking price is $69,900 OBO (within reason)
Never driven in a heavy rain or in dirt
Vehicle drives good, no issues.
Haven't driven the car for the last year or so. Been stored in a dry garage.
Im going to get it fully detailed outside in the next few days.
Interior is still in mint condition.
I will be listing it on Ebay as well in the next few days.
DM me with any questions OR offers
**Serious inquiries only**

Shame that you're selling this masterpiece.
Bring-A-Trailer may draw a larger audience but they may not appreciate the updating as much as other sites like Cars-and-Bids. Either way, noone can deny the crazy amount of work, effort, and skill this has taken.

That said, was it easy to find an upholstery guy who does custom leather work? I've called 10 places in my area and no one will do work on doors, dash trim, etc...only seats. As a matter of fact I need my headliner replaced too and even that is tough to find.

Yeah, it’s not easy to find Upolstery guys who could tackle this type of work. It’s easy to find somebody who does seats but it’s difficult to find somebody who does steering wheel or sunvisor.
I spoke to a few upholstery companies until I found one who would do a good job for good price. As far as door panels, dash, and headliner, as you can see in the posts, I made my own templates and gave it to the upolstery guy. He cut it out from leather stitched it and I did my own gluing. That’s the only way I could get it done for a reasonable price. Otherwise I would have to ship parts out to a different country. As far as headliner, I did the Alcantar myself, and it came out perfect

Actually, after seeing your post about templates, I might be interested in buying some (assuming I can find someone who can fit the leather).
And how did you do the headliner? Mine is sagging (the dealership ripped the headliner down and half-assed replaced it when fixing the broken sunroof motor but that is another story) and I need to replace it.
