I just ordered the G500 a few days ago. There is no 'logical' reason to order the G63 - I don't think anyone needs the extra power. However, if I did not want to do off-roading I would get the G63.

Practicality probably the 550! Bragging rights, more power, a few upgrades than the G63!

I like the way G63 looks and I could use more power - so yes G63 all the way

Same here. I had black 17 and traded for a mystic white in designo color. Not bragging, but it gets near twice the attention. I like that lol

G wagon diamond white issues
my dealer told me my allocation was the first one they got. I chose the polar white and now they said it got locked in as diamond white and delayed till September.
I added the second screen, amg line, night package.

I always thought black rims and polar white was the best combo, any comment on diamond with black rims?

the amg exahust is the one thing I can’t wait to hear, you think they would give the 550 a better sound for 3k? Or am I wishful thinking...

got offered 89k for 2016 g550-20k miles as early trade, this I should keep it till September or take the offer and drive the extra Camry in the driveway

thanks all!!

IMO, I like the 550 over the 63, not about the money, I just like the way the front end looks on the 550 better.

Definitely personal preference.

I think you get a brush guard, don’t you? I’m not a fan thereof but could not order the car without.

Yes, US models come with a brush guard standard. There is not a delete option. I think it's part of "crash safety".

Thanks. That’s weird as brush guards are no longer allowed in the EU for safety reasons (prevent car crash zones from being effective & pedestrian protection). It’s also strange that the current G65 does not have one. And also that the 2019 G63 has a much more reduced one than the G550. It might be more of a marketing thing based on US drivers’ taste & preference.

Ok this is what I found ...

Brush guard (USA only)

Mercedes-Benz G-Class / Mercedes-Benz G-Class Owners Manual / Stowage and features / Features / Brush guard (USA only)

WARNING
The brush guard is designed solely to enhance the appearance of the vehicle and help protect grille and headlamps from minor mishaps, either on or off road.

Since the safety characteristics are limited in the event of an accident, brush guard are not intended to prevent injury or damage in the event of an accident. Also observe state and local regulations on installation and use.

Raise and lower the brush guard in an open space with plenty of room.

If you wish to remove the brush guard, contact a qualified specialist workshop.

Is yours being delivered this July? I would assume they should tell you the price by now.
I seem to remember Sarlox got pricing with his order, which is interesting.

I only got preliminary numbers, but my dealer said the final numbers would be very close to what he quoted. We buy probably 10 sprinter vans from them a year so I've got the "VIP" inside track

I ordered the G550 because I prefer a smoother ride. I read the G63 has harsher suspension. But the look of the 63 nicer imo. Build date is 7/25. Still deciding color. between magnetite, white and olive. Thoughts ?

Base MSRP in 125300. Didn’t know options pricing came out yet.

Really woudve wished to ride both to make a proper decision though.

The pricing should be out end of July per my understanding. I do like the look of white, but IMO darker colors suit G better.
