Wow, looks amazing. CONGRATS!!!

I think you meant 2019 Edition 1 G63, not 2018.......

Visually, G63 looks wider but there isn't much difference based on the side by side dimension comparison.

I am assuming you're based in Europe? MB is evidently building the Edition 1 G63, then G5xx and later rest of the G63. My understanding is that G63 in USA intro is around October.

Thank you for the post. Really puts in perspective how the G has grown up, so much nicer. MIne goes in production this month, can't wait.

Thanks for the comparative pics. I really haven't seen the old and the new side by side. Very interesting. The MY 19 does look more substantial without giving up the character of the original. The windshield looks much larger. I am interested to hear your opinion about drivability differences and interior comfort. Keep us posted.

WOW!!! You can really see the difference in width, and even though only marginally taller, the 2019 looks much higher! I don't love the interior on the 2019, but I will freely admit that the 2019 exterior looks pretty damn good!! CONGRATS!! Drive your new G in the best of health, and have fun! #dasbesteodernichts

Wow very cool, first time I saw someone actually post some good side by side shots. Well I am sure the 19 is going to be awesome. I will def be checking one out when my local dealer gets them in. I dont like that its longer, also not sure if I like the front head lights and grill, but I am sure its awesome. I love the diamond weave stitching in my 16, that is going to be tough to beat. I also love the utilitarian dash thats not a huge ipad, but again, things change, tech changes and its about time the G got some of these changes. Looks like it lost a bit of its "squareness" which is good or bad depending on who is looking. CONGRATS

Just wondering, is the edition 1 matte or glossy paint? I thought it was only available in matte finish but this one seems glossy in the photos!!!

Wow, thanks for sharing.

You can really tell the difference when both are parked beside each other. The G looks much more modern.

The only thing I like about the new model is the rear end (shrug). Namely the tail lights. They look more integrated into the car. Always thought the older model tails look like an afterthought/golf-cart tail light slapped on
