Did this improve the ride quality? I’m looking to make my ride “softer” on the street. I don’t take off road, it’s too stiff and jarring for my wife on the street. Not interested in lifting either. Considering Brabus set up, but it’s $9.5k installed. I have a 2018 G63

feedback would be appreciated

Agree 💯 with invictusmaneo. It changes the physic of the ride so you won’t be able to accelerate as hard anymore. But the ride will be softer and more comfortable. Plus with the fox and/or king setup you can adjust the shocks to your liking.

Can you please post some closeup photos of the Fox reservoir mounted with the brackets mounted in the horizontal position?
I have the same setup and want to mount the fronts the way you have yours mounted.

Thanks,
David

with a 12.5 " rim you might consider 325's..... I test fit one and it would've worked perfectly and cleared the fender edge on the 63 if I'd backed up the offset about 7-8 mm it seemed...

HtownG,
Thank you so much for the pics!
Now I have a good idea on how I can mount my reservoir. I went offroading during G-Amboree here in Vegas and tried to adjust the Fox 2.0 in the front and it's almost impossible to reach the adjusters from fender and top was same. I don't know why Fox had to make these with such a short braided line.

Caster with lift

I just received the caster correction kit from Gwagen parts website. Has anyone use them to correct the caster after lift? We will be installing them next week after sandblasting and powder coating the arms.

Could someone take a measurement of the distance from the ground to their side step when running a OME 50mm lift and 32/33" tires?

To do a 19 W463-A 4" lift correctly, you'll need to go portal axles. We suggest going with LeTech.

I guess this forum is geared more toward ordering options and color choices.

above 2" can get complicated due to driveline and caster./ camber issues plus the need for extending the locker/ brake lines, track bars, etc..... 2" or so is easily done. for 63's I'd highly suggest spring spacers over new shocks given the compression rate of the aftermarket versions.... most are not progressive nor firm enough for the extra HP....I did 40mm packing spacers and fit 35's with minimal rubbing.... but settled on 305/55/20's as a better option.

I went with the Thor springs and 40mm spacers. The handling was atrocious. I just installed the Eurowise front radius bars that are designed for a 4" lift and the handling is now very stable. Possibly better than before the lift. I highly recommend them if you have a taller lift.

Have you done the rear sway bar as well ? how's the alignment ? debating going to a 50mm spacer ( from current 40mm) and adding a stiffer rear swaybar......

Im getting it aligned on Monday. I plan on getting the rear sway bar after getting the steering dialed in. Why do you want to go taller?

In order to get to zero caster, (still not ideal) I ended up using the G-wagen Accessories mil-spec radius arm brackets (high quality part, but make sure you find a legit, professional offroad --preferably race builder--shop to install) and caster adjusting bushings...and still only got to zero caster. It is stable at highway speeds and self centers with 35x12.5s, but not as much as I would like. Driveability is totally good, and it handles nicely, but it would've been easier in hindsight to go the new radius arm route (but at the time I installed a few years ago, wasn't really an option).

Definitely takes work to dial back in caster once you go above the normal 2" lifts..I am running a similar setup (thor springs and 40mm spacers on 35s)

It's geared how you want it to be - if you don't get your answer here I am sure there are many other places to go, and if you find any let me know.

Are you guys lifting for looks? Offroad? Serious question as I do not judge and IDGAF the reason, just curious.

I lifted it to clear a large enough tire to take the truck on trails in Moab and around Telluride ( we did Imogene and some others), and recently took it down to Big Bend for 5 days ..... it's not a rockcrawling rig given it's size and lack of protection for the exhaust and underside, but it's an amazing rig for exploring fire roads and trails....

I have a ranch just north of Telluride, and one 100 miles west of Moab. This is my ranch vehicle. Jeeps are underpowered and cheaply made, and I dont like Toyotas. I had a D110 with an LS motor, but the rest of the vehicle wasn't very comfortable.
I will consider buying portal axles once i test a G that has them installed.

I’m running 315/70/17 with no running issues. I did buy the caster bushings form gwagenparts (not installed yet) but won’t need adjustable pan hard bars as my axels are not out of alignment. Thor’s don’t ride badly (but soft ) but my Fox 2.0 Are not long enough. Ordered custom length King 2.5’s and king front steering stabilizer and the ORC swaybar after input.

Planning install if all above parts, front winch bumper and safari roof rack and ladder then will re-evaluate springs and alignment.

If your GWagen is mainly going to be street driven this would be a good set up. I have this set up but feel it’s too soft and twitchy. My recommendation would be to do the following in conjunction with the Thor/Fox set up:
- Caster correction bushings
- ORC rear sway bar/Stabilizer

Good luck snd Hope you don’t catch the GWagen mod virus once you start project 😉

Thats how it all started for me
