2019 g550
I had a ride in a 2019 g63...dealer training vehicle....I love my 2015 g63....the new one (2019) will sell better because it is actually better suited for what 99% of the people buying them use them for...commute and Starbucks runs...Here is where I start a potential argument...The base 2019 g550 looks very awkward ——the s class wheels look out of place...imagine seeing a 2019 s560 with g63 rims and tires??? That is exactly what the 2019 base g550 looks like....either get the 2019 g63 or don’t bother...The g550 bull bar looks horrible...the g63 bull bar looks pretty good in person ...if you can afford $140K...you can afford $165K...my 2019 g63 is on order ...seems matte grey and diamond stitching will dictate when I receive mine...build date changes weekly from December 2018 to March 2019...might just get a leftover 2018 g63 to drive for a few years and let them get reliability and year 1 issues (Germans use customers for research and development ...lol)
The 2019 g550 does drive like an s class ...if that’s a good thing ..then you will love it...if you like jeeps...you will not—-
Cheers

I like Jeeps, but I love the '19 G550. The AT tires are going on next week. I look forward to the improved off-road capabilities. After owning a G550 for over a week now, I will say it isn't a question of affordability, it's about desirability. The G550 has everything I want, so I have very little interest in the G63. BTW, did I mention that I'm already driving the '19 G550 rather than hoping to drive one some day?

Mercedes Benz of Rocklin. Rocklin, Sacramento, and El Dorado Hills MB dealerships have the same owner. They got 2 G550's at the El Dorado Hills dealership and I guess they moved one to Rocklin. I was there buying a battery for my SL65. I actually would have wrote a check for MSRP, and I told them that, but no deal.

I agree it is fixable...but when I spend over 100k...the car /suv needs to tick all the right boxes....the AMG has a better edge IMO....and more entertaining to drive...the g550 is a better all around driver for sure....but I drive the g63 for fun....

Are you saying you didn't notice the S63 wheels on the G63 or that the front bumper guard (aka NYC parking sensor) doesn't look silly without a matching rear bumper guard? The '19 G550 and G63 both have an S Class interior, so why not have S Class exterior styling cues?

A dealership near them just got a white one with red interior. I saw it this morning. Sales Manager said it was available. Let me know if anyone is interested and I'll send you his info. There asking $15k over.
