Fester. I dont understand the film windshield comments about scratching??? film is precut and goes on like ppf. yes over 2-3yrs it will get scratches, but that is better than glass damage. easily replaceable film.

Me too. Curious about scratches. Had planned to put Exosheild on windshield day of arrival of g63...

Well, he says that wipers used over the period of time put the scratches on the shield also, once it’s scratched, it gets removed in ‘chunks’ with messy job...regardless, I’ve asked to get one ordered

In Canada the new G does have the front defrost wires as standard.

I still think it is almost just as cost effective to purchase the MB windshield warranty. I paid $1,240.00, good for 1 replacement over a 5 year period.

Just installed exoshield on my 19 G63.
Looks great and even easier on eyes while driving - must be the UV protection;
and I even believe cabin is cooler - again probably UV protection.
Lastly, I feel much better than I’ve done something to protect the nearly vertical window from damage again.
May add ceramic coating to entire car and windshield which I’m told is a good idea.
But for now it’s back to trucking with style 😎 and some extra attitude 💪🏻 !

Can anyone recommend a reasonable Exoshield installer in So Cal (I am in LA). I contacted closest one off Exoshield website; they wanted $575. Seems like a lot.

So, no windshield issues yet, but I’ve been casually following this thread since it started. Isn’t glass covered by most people’s auto insurance? USAA has covered two windshield replacements on my BMWs over the past decade. Both times the windshield was replaced within days at my work parking lot with OEM glass. I just went outside and handed the installer my key and about an hour later it was all done.

yo benzman333, no kidding it works great. i have had a few rocks hit since getting EXO. No damage. totally worth it. Am glad others r having the same experience.

Only issue seems exoshield is a little damaged after pebble
May need to replace film sooner than I thought
if I can get a year out of it I’d be happy and just do it again

yes i dont mind replacing every couple years. mine has few minor whitish dings on passenger side. if i got some major damage then i agree w u i would just replace, knowing it could have been in the glass if it were not for the EXO.

Check your insurance and make sure that you have free crack replacement. The 1st time I cracked my windshield my insurance agent slipped it in and never told me. Luckily I had it.

Nothing is ever “free” with insurance. You’re still going to pay for it, and then some. I only try to use it for the big claims.

I have the G-Wagon 2019 and I am replacing the windshield for the 3rd time in 4 months. There is a design flaw and or quality issue with this windshield. I get the windshield has a more vertical profile that being said, didn't they know that anyway?? How was this not reveled in the testing phases. This vehicle was designed for major off road experiences and crazy durability but the windshield can't take a pebble from the road!

Love the vehicle but very disappointed with this Windshield...It should have a special coat on it to take the blow of debris

Curt Lewis. wow, 3 times. i replaced 2 times, once from crack w rock and 2nd due to faulty relaxement oem glass, was curved. i wish mercedes would put out a statement on this, they must have knowledge of how many replacements have been performed.

i have since put Exoshield on and had no problems. will prob replace it every few years or so. $380 install. i have had rocks hit it w no damage. 6x’s harder than the glass itself.

lastly, could the lower position of the bull bar on the G63 model be a part of this?

Wow, i will definitely get Exoshield when mine arrives in October. Do you guys have the heated windscreen - the one with the imbedded defroster lines, or the regular windshield?

mine is heated. i thought most were heated, in US.

It’s standard in Canada, wasn’t sure about the US. Our base car has a lot more features which are optional on US cars.
