Found 2019 G550. Opinion on price please
Hi all,
Old member with new question. I have found a 2019 G550 on the lot. No insane color combination nor options. They are asking $5000 over sticker. Is this fair? Bought my last G from them in 2009.
Thank you,

In all our years of crazy car buying & trading, we have paid over sticker one time (the all new SL in 2002). But, $5000 over sticker for a '19 G is not bad. I still do not know if I would do it, but if you want it and $5k is no issue...Why not?!

Given the current market demand for the G the $5K over doesn't sound bad. I just have an issue of paying over MSRP as a matter of principal. But that's just me. I paid over once for a limited production American car. Sold it in two months, got my money back and never returned to the dealer or the brand. It just left me with a bad feeling. But if you want it now and can afford the up-charge...go for it. I guess if you intend on keeping the G for a long time amortizing the up-charge of $5K over a long period of time amounts to "chump change". Good luck and let us now how things work out.

I have scavenged the dealerships. They are asking $10,000-$20,000 over MSRP on the west coast and most people are ordering. Let me know if you hear of one at list.

1. Since you have bought a prior high-line MB from them - which confirms you are "local market" customer - they have told you $5K rather than $10K out-of-market - so in that light they are somewhat wanting to get this done.
I would tell them $5K over if they include 3yrs Prepaid Maintenance - if they balk at 3yrs for real - then say "OK today all I want free is 2yrs Prepaid Maintenance"
G550's are still - and will be - very/very tight thru this year - your $5K offer might be the best for you for a G-Wagen ready right there and right now - a MB dealer has zero incentive "points wise" to sell out-off-market at MSRP

They will come down $5k or throw in some free stuff for you. No reason to pay over msrp on a g550, especially as a repeat buyer for the same dealer. Let them make the $5k off you on the next vehicle AT msrp :-)

G550's are starting to be released in the market with more inventory, my local dealer has a few and normally don't sell over MSRP:
