Who's Paying MSRP in Cali
I'm not having any luck finding a dealer that isn't charging market adjustment for a 2019 build. Anyone know where/how I can grab a G550 with no up charge? I even tried a couple dealers in Vegas.

Thanks @AMGBEASTMODE , going to keep trying out west, if that doesn't work will wait until next year. I've seen some comments about MSRP going up in 2020.

The only people paying MSRP in California are the people buying outside of California and shipping them here...lol CA dealers are the billboard advertisement for outrageous sales practices / tactics... Cheers

i can tell you nobody is paying sticker on 63's and hardly anyone on a 550. dealers are forced to charge over sticker or else people are buying them and selling them within days and profiting tens of thousands of dollars. cant have that. we have them leave the lot within 3 hours at 50k over for 63's, even on pre-owned with 1500-2000 miles(twice now) there are dealerships sending out offers to all other dealers telling them they will pay 20k over sticker AND let the original dealer ddr it as their sold unit. if you find one at sticker you either found a dealership without knowledge or theres something wrong with it. G550 is a different animal but still, i could sell 50 of them TODAY for 30k over without hardly thinking about it. that doesnt include that my wait list for a custom build spot is 5-10 people deep at any given time.
could also go into extreme detail about exporters and dealers being charged back. i could sell every single G class in the US to the exporters and they would all leave the country. problem is dealerships are penalized heavily for any vehicle thats exported within 6 months, first owner or second owner it doesn't matter. only way to stop that from happening is to price them outside of the exporters means or profit enough on overcharge that the dealership can still profit after MB takes back any profit from the vehicle

The main problem with the mark-up from dealers is the demand of the car locally and internationally. In china, the car sells for around 4,000,000 RMB which is around 565,000$ USD. There are a lot of people who are in the business to export these vehicles but the G-wagon has been known to have mark-up even with the older models. Ill send you a PM to a contact who might be able to sell you one at MSRP.

Might have found a dealer but I’m not sure this is a solid lead.
All I need to give is name, cell, and address details. Submit my build and wait about six months. No deposit required and I can get it at MSRP.

Well friend ... G550 "backlog" is about 12 months - so 6 months is bogus .. no deposit tells you the dealer is not committing anything to you.. at best that dealer is just stacking you in a long line that will never get to you..

I’m ok with 12 months and no deposit- just cautious on the dealers intentions. Maybe I need another strategy and snag a used one in a year if I can’t find a reliable source. 🤷🏽*♂️

What does exporting have anything to do with dealer mark up?
Dealers are asking for ADM because demand outstrips supply, that's it. It has nothing to do with exporting or the dealer trying to stop the exporting. Come on, you guys can't be serious here? It's called capitalism 101 and simply put, it's called greed.
