Pics - MY2020 Trail Package on Olive Met.

As I wait for my build slot to come up, I'm still obsessively seeking out "real world" pictures of various colors and options. I hadn't found any at all of the Trail Package, and I'm still torn on Olive Green Metallic or Obsidian (and "saving" $6,500).

Handily Dan at Mercedes Seattle had this car going out to some lucky customer - and he let me snag some pictures of it. Thought I'd share. I actually really like these rims and tires - glad I ordered this option.

If this car is yours:

a) Congratulations - it's beautiful
b) I, and they, were respectful - I didn't touch it while the detailers got it ready for you

Such a small world!

This is our G63 and we took delivery just a few hours ago.

We ordered the interior and exterior without seeing either in real life. We are super happy we did. Exterior color is beautiful.

I wasn’t fully sold on the trail package wheels but thought that I could always switch them out. But after seeing them, I really like them a lot.

I am going to try to take some interior photos (G Manufaktur Saddle Brown) and share them here.

PS thank you for treating the car with care! 👍

I stand corrected. I didn't like the wheels in the one thread that had a picture of them.....but in these real life pics they look good. Still think they would look better without the "teeth". Most of all though.....that paint man...love it.

Also whats different about the trail package? Wheels and what else? Suspension? Does it not go as fast (limited) compared to the non trail G63?

almost same exact in order but will change wheels to 2019 options. Good taste. Please give us feedback on suspension comfort with trail package.

Yes - really interested to hear how you think the Trail package drives - particularly if you feel it’s now overly “squishy” and “Range-Rover-esque”....

Thanks everyone!

Here are some answers:
  • I haven't driven a 2019+ G63 other than this one, so I cannot compare the Trail Package v. regular suspension but I am betting that the suspension difference is minor. I can compare to a 2013 G550 (had it for the last few years) and have driven a 2017 G63 & a 2018 G65. I would say in comfort it is similar to the G550 but it does not have as much body sway and isn't as 'choppy' over bumps therefore more comfortable. In sport mode the suspension is definitely firmer. I know for sure in all modes it drives better than a G65 (which just felt very heavy.) I haven't driven much yet, but should have more insight over time. I haven't driven a Land Rover in years, but the car isn't floaty.
  • I believe the top speed is the same as a regular G63, I didn't opt for the higher top speed package but not sure if you can even get that with the trail package (due to the off road tire max speed rating.) Either way, I doubt I will ever get above 100 mph, most of the time I will be stuck in terrible Seattle traffic anyways
  • I haven't noticed the cabin pressure issue. I tried to play around with that today but won't likely have more time to do that until the weekend. Once I do that, I will report back.

Here are some photos, just from my phone. I was hoping to take some better pictures today but didn't have time. I will take some over the weekend and share them, but until then:

I have to say that I think this is the best looking G I have seen yet. None of the options did I select for myself, but fact, it is absolutely perfect man.

Thank you!

I would love to take full credit for the spec, but really it was my wife who pushed for this combo. Turned out great.

Ironically our G550 is white on the outside and black on the inside (literally the least adventurous spec, ha)

Yes, very true! Not a very German color combo, to me its the classic silver exterior and black interior but its a global economy now anyways!

Gorgeous combination! I ordered my 2019 with espresso brown, but as soon as I found out saddle brown was an option for 2020, I put another deposit down.

First, congrats to you on such a beautiful spec! Secondly, I'm so glad to see that the steering wheel leather is not the alcantara but hard leather. Is that an option only on the trial package? I can't stand alcantara on a steering wheel

EDIT: NVM, I see that it's standard leather on the black laquer trim

Edwin
