How Long Will It Be Until We Get This G63

Hello, we placed an order in august, 4 months back, and today when I called in was told the dealer has 23 others ahead of me, was 38 when the order was placed. Does that mean this particular dealer gets 4/month give or take? Does that potentially speed up? I notice there are 187 19 and 20 G63 listed on autotrader, I really don't understand how these are still trading so much over sticker, they're simply a production car. They're not some limited edition car or anything. Anyways its been 4 months now, just curious how long the backlog of 23 will take to clear out and when we can expect to see a finished product, thank you.

Also being that the car will be 2020 or 2021 build, will there be new options I could potentially add later that weren't there when we pre-ordered? Will there be a price bump on the car?

Well they are in a way limited production. There is a lot of hand build on the G and there is just one factory supplying the world. This is a limited production vehicle vs Mercedes sedans and other SUVs.

A gaggle of MB's
1) Unless you post "who" the dealer is - no one can give you any feedback if their backlog # is real .

2) What's your "understanding" on your Price versus MSRP ?

1) am I allowed to post the dealer or can I get in any sort of trouble? It's in Texas if it matters at all and secondly he mentioned my wait would "longer" bc I got the expensive white paint option, that made no sense to me

2) the build sheet I got when I ordered had a price of $1,177,177 but the sales man said thats just bc we dont know the price of the actual G63 when mine is built, are you suggesting I'd be paying over sticker too? What's the point of ordering and waiting?

3) This hype around the G63 is fabricated at the point, most online are sitting for a long time, no production car, hell no car in general can sustain this "oversticker" hype. I got a Ferrari 812 superfast in 2017 for "oversticker" bc they were hot when they came out, a year later new ones were selling for $50k under sticker and still are today, the G63 has been out nearly a year now, they are making so many and every smug dealer I call wants a fortune, last night called a dealer in california who had one listed for $176,000, it was mercedes escondido, the salesman was so cocky he said they're not allowed to list over the price which was $176,000 but they wanted $60,000 OVER and i said sorry, nevermind and he told me it was ok a customer with real money was on the way to get it lol I guess me with only $176,000 didn't have real money. My point is the 812 is way rarer and even the hype died on that over sticker quickly.

You are wrong most are not sitting for a long time. Anything you see in Autotrader etc as being available is incorrect, those are all likely sold. Its just Merc's system that shows them as available, if you gave any of those dealers a call they'd likely tell you they are customers cars that have been sold long before the allocation was given.

Agree with Poison. This forum has the most excited enthusiasts and many are well connected to benz. All here are waiting for MSRP or paying a premium. The AMG variant is rare and will be for another 2 years frankly until a "facelift". Maybe MSRP will be more often, but still itll be a good find even in 18months.

Cheers,

How am I wrong? This white one is the exact spec I want but doesn't have carbon fiber and its been asking $195k for nearly 3 months on ebay

https://www.ebay.com/itm/2019-G-Clas...%7C1000%7C2500

There is this white one 5 minutes from me in houston asking $190k with $159k sticker and also hasn't sold in months

https://www.adscars.com/2019-Mercede...-77057/6715459

all Im saying is its cool everyone is hoarding them and sure some people with more money than brains are overpaying today, or were a few months back, but today if you're paying $60k over, why not just buy a urus? They're selling under sticker. Again no car stays over sticker this long, my 812 went from $100k over to $50k under in less than 12 months and that was much rarer. there just aren't that many $200k truck buyers im sorry but if there were why are the 2 white ones Im showing you sitting around for 3 months so far?

No one on here wants an Urus, they want a Gwagon.
You did the same "research:" as an antivaxer ("I found 1 example in one place of one item that I found on the internet")

If the market is so hot, why are all the used ones on ebay there for so long? Im sorry you're out of touch with reality if you think there is an endless supply of buyers for $220k trucks. The lamborghini urus is a much better car and even that is selling under MSRP brand new, go ahead call any lamborghini dealer and see. The G63 is a great car I love it and at $175k its still $60k less than the Urus, but if you have to pay $220-230k to get a loaded g63 you're making a mistake not buying a urus for the same money.

It's the same thing with car dealers whenever you want to buy, its the hottest car ever and when you want to sell, the market is soft, its a shame mercedes is letting people make the money, MB should just raise the price to $200k and cut out the dealers and flippers

I want a g63 for $175k bc I don't want to pay $240k for a urus, but with every dealer asking $60k over, its the same price, for the same price the Urus is better, for $60-80k less, the G63 is the best SUV

Its weird how it seems like most of the people on this forum have no issues getting in line at MSRP and getting a 2020 allocation. I think the probably is you are a "Me Me Me" impatient person. If you want the 63 now....well its going to cost you bud.

You don't see any issue with a production car of which thousands upon thousands will be produced being treated like some limited edition car? LOL The G63 is a superb car, but anyone paying $60k over sticker has more money than brains, sorry that is just fact, I guess I love the car but not enough to pay $60k over. I guess I have to wait, I like money too much to spend $1 more than the car is worth. You have great insights, you guys should be a car salesman lol I post 2 white ones I've been following a while and the only answers are "they're used" so the car is hot but only new? Used ones sit for months at $30k over and nobody wants them? LOL

No **** used ones sit when they are marked over....people aren't that stupid. You must be new to the high demand market, if you really want to get butt hurt go look at the Porsche GT series cars when new model years come out...and then you can complain.

LOL dude....show us on the doll where the dealers touched you. Nope I don't agree with it, but then again I don't have to purchase it and I'm not going to whine like a ***** about it either.

yes the urus, the one that drives better, has more exclusivity, has a wireless phone charge, looks better but costs $70k more usually but currently sells for the same price bc every dealer says market price is $60k ontop of sticker

I don't get your attitude problem, if I wanted to spend $250k on a truck I'd pay what a 2020 G63 is going for or get a urus, the truck I ordered is $175k in today's money, I don't see why you are so upset that I don't think its worth $1 over that. You talk about all your experience with porsche and over sticker and completely ignore my comment above. I had a Ferrari 812 and it too was $100k over the $439k sticker not long ago today, nearly every new 812 is asking $30-40k below sticker and ends up selling way lower, there is no car in the world that commands a premium for as long as this G63 has. It's remarkable mercedes has been able to do it, but sad on their end bc they're not profiting from it only dealers and flippers. If the market price was really so much over my local dealer wouldn't call me every few days with a new G63 for X over sticker which started at $50k over but the last 2 were $25k over. The G63 is the only truck in the world thats $175k new, the other competitors the bentayga and urus are a whole different price point that Im not interested in. Have you ever owned an AMG car before to say they're worthless is an understatement, I had an SL55 new that ended up selling for $19k at the end. Those too once asked over sticker in 2004. The G63 isn't some classic car, its a truck, a very nice one, one they'll make a ton of, I just don't get this whole artificial market everyone is building around the car. If mercedes were smart they'd crank out as many as they can while there is a backlog of buyers with a $175k. The stock market is at all time highs, Im a trader, you get liz warren winning the election next november and market tumbles 25% or more and see how many guys are looking to blow $175k on a daily driver, you must not have been around in 2008......

The one with the obvious attitude problem is you bud. I'm sorry if you were a sucker and fell for the classic Ferrari bull****. Weird....don't recall worthless statement on the Gwagon since I've got one on order being delivered in Feb/March. Merc isn't stupid to flood the market with Gwagons...it then loses its exclusivity which very much helps them sell like they do. The current classic example is the Gen 2 Raptor....sold really well in the beginning and now the market is flooded and dealers are giving 5k+ off sticker. And the residuals sucks now on the Gen 2....**** the Gen 1's are worth more with the same or more miles on them.

So at the end of it, either pay the markup if you want one, or get in line for a deliver in late 2020 or early 2021...but jesus just shut up. And no one here gives a **** about buying a Urus, they aren't even remotely the same type of vehicle.
