Steering wheel swap 2020 G63

Hi guys. So my steering wheel that came is the standard one and I wanted the carbon fiber one! But because I bought one off the lot ir didn’t have that feature.

ao I’m thinking of buying one and swapping it. Need some help! So my g doesn’t have heated steering wheel so it has the toggle button to change the driving mode (C,S,S+, etc) and on the left side it has the buttons to turn off the auto start/stop feature and the esp button. So I’ve looked on eBay for many Oem steering wheels and in the photos they don’t show those buttons. So if I buy a new steering from there or anywhere in general will those buttons be gone? Or do my original ones get fitted into the new steering wheel? I just don’t want to make a mistake and lose that feature! Any insight would be much appreciated. Thank You guys! And if this is confusing at all let me know!

From what I understand those buttons come on all non-heated steering wheels. Have you considered buy a new one? If so I am sure you can sell the one you have now.

yes I’m buying a new steering wheel. So okay I guess the new one will have these buttons and I just sell my old one. Got it!

I will send you the 2020 G Class Order Guide, which has pictures of all available steering wheels. But yes, as long as you buy the non-heated one you will be fine.

Regarding the auto start on/off feature. On your new G model, once turned off does it remain off until you manually turn it back on?
or by default the on/off turns back on each time you start the vehicle?
Thanks

You can swap the u88 amg buttons over to the new steering wheels that u r buying. Its 4 parts to be swapped over. That way, no coding is needed.

theres a possibility that if you install new amg steering buttons that came with the new steering wheel, coding is needed.

if u want the button, u need to make sure it's not heated from MY2020 onward. Someone would have to look up the parts on MB/STAR? Some dealers are pretty dumb but that's the other option. Steering wheel swaps are super straightforward
