All in about 45min. Took me longer to convince myself to spend the cash on the parts.
Any reason you replaced the clock spring? I am finding the steering angle sensor at FCP Euro for about $65.00. I am thinking of replacing the SAS to see if it resolves my intermittent ABS light.
I replaced the clock spring because I was already in there and the grease looked contaminated, which is where the actual circuit is on the ribbon. Also it was making clicking noise at one point so figured I would knock both out since both came out together and I don't ever want to go back in there.
SAS definitely got rid of my ABS light. Thank God.

I am gonna give FCP generic SAS sensor a try, for 65.00 and a lifetime warranty, I figure it is worth a shot.
Got my Gobi rack delivered yesterday, and with a little help from my neighbor got it hoisted to the roof and then I spent the afternoon/evening getting it all buttoned up.
Huge shout out and thank you to @JACWAGN over at JackWagonOverlanding.com he was a huge help in getting this rack out to me super quickly. He was on top of the custom build the entire process. Definitely will be adding more to my truck in the future with him!
The toughest part was re-wiring the rear tail lamp.
Beyond blown away with the build quality and looks of this rack.
Have two black Wavian 20L jerry cans, a spare wheel and a tool box that I will be mounting and doing some offroading with this weekend to make sure I am ready for my trek up the PCH next month.
Also still need to install the wind deflector before I take this on the highway for another shakedown.

Nice, I’m am still debating on Gobi or Front runner, but definitely agreed on making a shout out to Jack & his company. I ordered all my mods from him & if I had questions he was there for me. Your rig looks good!
Took the truck out for a shakedown yesterday morning at Hungry Valley SVRA, had a blast everything held up amazingly. Truck is actually not too noisy at highway speed (I think the roof insulation is really doing an amazing job), so I may keep the wind deflector off for the time being.
Once I move to the PNW and have to deal with rain I may sing another tune. But for now I am loving where I've taken this truck aesthetically and technically with the trails / routes that were a bit more challenging this go round (Not pictured of course, was too busy keeping the truck on all fours)
Any reason you take along a extra OE looking spare on the roof? Or was it just for added weight up there to see how the truck behaves at speed and going over the ruff stuff?

He's probably following the old Off-Road spare tire adage: One is none, two is one... . Although, you would need another 33 inch tire for sure...
Looking good, I'm about done with my roof rack accessories build and will be heading out to NM and CO in 4 weeks. Time to get back on the trails again for sure, been cooped up way too long.

Yea ordering another K02, wanted to see how she would handle with something up there first, so I threw the old spare tire.
When we head up to Seattle in a few weeks, if I do get a flat, I want to have another tire to replace asap so I always have a spare. So totally following the 2 is 1 adage.

Nice de-badged G with a POE sticker and some other nice upgrades on the rear and side window. My wife and I took our dane out for a quick hike during lunch and saw this great looking truck near the Tennis Courts at the Griffith Park Observatory here in LA.
Finally had a moment to do some much needed hardware upgrades and tightening of bolts after my last off road shakedown.
Fit my gazelle ground tent, an additional 5gal red gas can and my roadside full size craftsman toolbox w all fluids and essential tools to make sure my foot print was ready for my drive up the PCH to Seattle in two weeks.
Replaced the test hardware that was holding the stock spare, as well as adding some security measures to keep my new KO2 planted on the roof when we stop overnight.
Looking forward to the drive and glad I have the appropriate time to prep for the trip. Next up is a cargo and back seat cover for the dogs that I will be testing out when it arrives tomorrow.
New eyebolts are M16 304 Stainless, replacing the test zinc covered of the shelf eyebolts, which I was running stainless washers with. Opted for larger stainless washers and locking crush washers w the new setup.
Still have my Spare w the rim on the back, so rocking 6 KO2s sheesh.
After doing some shake down drives before the PCH/101 drive to our new home in Seattle I am getting a clunking sound whenever I hit rough road while the wheel is turned.
Hoping to hop under the truck this afternoon once it cools down a bit and give everything a once over.

This may not be an issue for you yet, given the year, but any consideration to swapping out the screws throughout the exterior to Stainless Steel? I'm seeing some rusting on mine (screws that hold down the trim pieces and the turn light indicators). I don't even know where to source the entire set for my G, but wanted to know if you or anyone else has done this.
You can pretty much source any hardware in stainless steel (either 304 or 316, sometimes already black) on McMaster-Carr. Their prices are high for hardware but that's what you have to deal with for low quantity, higher quality parts. You'll have to remove the hardware from the car, measure the size, length, head size, drive style, etc and order the exact screw. I'll tackle this eventually when I get some more time and I'll make a list.
Finally had a chance to chose the hottest day of the year to install my 7-Pin Trailer connector that I got from G-Wagon Accessories.
Was a breeze, aside from mounting. I didn't buy the $700 trailer hitch they offer, I went for a $200 Class 3 hitch I found on eBay that is stout, but a bit of a pain to install.
Ended up mounting it securely upside down on a rail that's already on the truck, may need an extension when the time comes, but happy with the stealth install.
In other news, FINALLY found my clunking noise.
Turns out my swaybar bushing decided to divorce itself from the bar the last time I was out offroading. This was driving me insane, to the point that I was about to remove my lift today to rule that out.
Off to a Mercedes Dealership to see if I can source new ones. Been up since 5a watching F1, wasn't expecting this in the cards today, but glad I found the issue before my PCH drive in a couple weeks.
I had a similar issue with the upgraded Eibach swaybars on my C63 with bushing sliding out - my shop fabbed a clip that they tack welded to the bracket that was essentially a U-shaped clip that retained the bushing on each end and was lightly contoured to keep it from hitting the bar.

Nice! Love good old fashioned ingenuity.
The parts department at my local dealership is closed today, so I just went down there and removed the U-Bolts and re-installed the bushing.
I think the harder off-roading snaked it out, as my wife and I heard the noise after a sharp turn from a steep descent into super soft sand.
The bushing looked fine, and the bar looked good (even after the metal on metal). Going to swap both bushings once they are delivered and keep an ear on them on our drive to Seattle in a couple weeks.
So relieved I found the source of the sound.
If anyone experiences metal "thuds" on turning when the suspension articulates (and you get some feedback in the wheel) give your sway bar bushings a look.
It may be worth it to get some split shaft collars in the correct size of the sway bar and fix them inboard of the bushings, to prevent them from 'slipping out' again in the future. Something like this but in the correct size.
