W464 Trailer hitch
Hi All,
Anyone know where to get a trailer hitch for the 2020 W464 G? Only think I found was the ball mount.

All 2019+ G550s/G63s come with a regular/standard 2" hitch receiver in the US. Any standard hitch will fit, was there something specific you are looking for?
Also, they are still w463 models (confusing enough.)

I have searched and called several retailers and OEMs that made them for previous models and they claim it will not fit w464. Example below of the one I found. Thoughts? Any guidance or products you are aware of is appreciated.

From my understanding all US models already come with the receiver installed from the factory. Therefore what you shared in the link isn’t needed, the equivalent part is already present on the vehicle.
Check below the bumper and the receiver should be there with a simple pull off cover over the square opening.
I can share photos of my 2020 G63 if that helps.

I guess it pays to pay attention to the car on delivery day and not blow off the sales guy when he wants to do a walk around on vehicle features. You are correct. hitch is already installed. Thanks alot.

Yeah no problem... I wasn't too interested in the sales guy showing the features either, just wanted to go and drive it!

Whats odd is that they don’t offer the ball and the wiring plugin. When you discuss that with the dealer, you are referred to a boat or other trailer hitch sales place.
The Reese Hitch set up seems to be very good quality. I am thinking of getting a stainless 2” ball (minimal rust) and a the insertable base with a good pin and lock.
Also, I am looking at a very good quality tow strap.
My thinking is to get a zippered cloth bag with everything in it that can be easily placed in the the G or removed as necessary.
The MOST IMPORTANT information I learned from the dealer is that it is very dangerous to go the add on route and build your own hitch package. Mercedes has engineered the towing capability into the car when the option is specified. The hitch is bolted to the car with the correct case hardened bolts in the right location. The suspension is factory designed to handle the specified load and tongue weight, the gearing, timing and tires are set to operate as they should once the electric plug in and the hitch is hooked up to whatever is being towed. NONE of these features exist on a non towing option speced vehicle.
If any damage occurs as a result of a non factory towing set up, the warranty won’t cover it. So be advised and recheck with your dealer to confirm before spending any money.
Regards
Jerry

My W464 does not have the 2” tow installation. Is it possible to obtain one?
