Finally got one. Am in Love : )
Always been in love with the G-Wagon.
Sold my beloved S-Class about 4years ago with hopes of getting a G550 or G63.
But I never had the chance or time to commit to one cause I was focused heavily on business in the last couple of yeaRs.
While at it, the new G-Class comes out in 2019 but I still found myself in love with the 2013-2018 shape.
I flirted with the idea of getting the new model but I felt like I would not be fulfilled if I didn’t start my G-Wagon life with the boxy rugged look, trailer-like ride, (And let’s be honest)ugly and dated interior of the 2013- 2018 model.
I just loved all these features of the truck.
the fact that I had to wait 2-3yrs, could put down $80k and my payments would still be in monthly mortgage realm also made the 2013-2018 model more attractive to me.
My decision was made easier when this well-serviced, well maintained G63 I had been stalking at a Porsche dealership for close to 2months was suddenly dropped to a figure I knew no one could refuse. Favorite color on inside and outside too. I was so excited.
Within minutes of getting the alert of price drop from Auto-Trader on my phone, I called and left a $5000 dep. Did due diligence and wired the remaining funds a week later.
Its on its way to me now. Can’t wait. Am so excited.
Already ordered some parts for some modifications.
-Ordered the 10.5” Nav screen with a vast amount of 21st century features which brings new life to the interior of the car
-Got a good discount and Ordered LED taillights and foglights from ijdmtoy.com To bring new life to the rear. Amazed at the prompt shipping.Recieved them in Canada from the US within 4days.
FedEx just dropped them off as I am typing this. Amazing packaging. Thumbs up to them.
-Ordered the Stainless steel skid plate to give the front end some shiny attraction.
-Booked appointment for front window tint to match rear windows.
Still looking for the following in case anyone is selling or has any leads:
-Chrome Front Brush Guard/Bar (trying to see if I can find a used OEM one before commiting to the aftermarket ones on eBay.
-Sportier Flat bottom steering wheel. This has been difficult to find since am looking for one that will be plug and play. Not sure which other Mercedes models have Steering wheels that can be a direct swap. If anyone has any insight, please help me out.
-Missing 2 headrests in back seat. I intended to take down the middle one anyways so I only need one. This has been unbelievably hard to find also. I have not found a single W463 rear headrest on ebay or elsewhere. Again with this one, am Not sure which other Mercedes models have Headrests that can be a direct swap. If anyone has any insight, please help me out.
That will be it for mods.
i might throw on some HRE 943RL maybe a year from now. But I am happy with these mods. Plan on enjoying this car. Will definitely be taking OFF-road.
Enough with the essay.

Congrats man! Great looking truck. It is definitely hard to find parts second hand. I usually use a combination of Ebay, Craigslist has some stuff, this forum and just a google search as people post things all over the place.
Good luck w the last few pieces. Keep us posted on progress

Nice Find. Love the color. Welcome and many many miles of happy motoring!
Share some feedback how the LED taillights and fog lights are. I've been tempted to go with these, along with the LED side markers, but haven't pulled the trigger just yet.

hey
It has all the modern day features anyone could need in a nav system. Including Netflix, youtube, wifi and ability to take a 4G sim.
You can also switch between the Mercedes interface and the pre-installed Andriod interface. You loose absolutely nothing and gain everything.
Map Updates and features guaranteed via download for the lifetime of the product.
I will post a video of each of my mods as they get installed on the truck.
Also order a Mercedes ECO start/stop module to change the setting via OBD so the system will remember my last ECO setting. (Am one of those that hate that feature).
So many nicer Flat bottom AMG steering wheels on eBay. Am thinking the C63 AMG steering wheel should work for me but a lot of them don't have the heated feature (not willing to give this up given how brutal Canadian winters can get). Also not sure if they would be plug and play. (I don't want to mess around with much with regards to the steering wheel). Prefer Plug and Play. Again, if anyone has any insight on how i can upgrade my steering wheel without breaking the bank, I would appreciate that.

Congratulations on your purchase, Olga looks like a fabulous motor!
We have just got a diesel 2020 and although I’m scared to death driving it as it’s huge I absolutely LOVE it too.

Congratulations on your new ride.
Based on the postings here on the earlier models and the fact that you live in Canada and plan to take it off road, I would go “rust hunting” to identify any areas up front before they become issues.

Thank you sir.
Looks like i have to live with the round Steering wheel. .Literally contacted more than a dozen sellers of AMG steering wheels on eBay. All don't have the heated feature which i am not willing to sacrifice.
Called the Parts dept at the stealer ship today for a headrest, one rear headrest is $1113 after taxes...Shesssh. For a headrest...lol.
Going to keep searching. Hopeful on finding it without paying such exorbitant amount.

Ouch!
May be a long shot, but I found this G-Wagon being parted out on Craigslist. May be worth pinging them.

Definitely.
Just found these rear seats for you...
http://exoticsalvage.com/15-mercedes...black-db110560
May want to hit them up or do a deeper dive into their inventory and see if they have just the headrests. Maybe even see if the part numbers overlap with the headrests in the R-Class as I did see some on ebay.
Good luck! I know how it is looking for these hard to find bits to get the truck back to 100%

Hey
i thought about switching my order to the 12.3” screen.
But I opted for the 10:25” with the newer curved bezel for two reasons:
1. It just seemed a little overwhelming to me. It engulfed the whole space and I didn’t like that. That’s what it looked like to me. The 10.25” just seemed perfect to me. Coming from the stock screen, I think we can all agree the 10.25” is a great upgrade.
2. The 12.3” is fairly new and as with anything might have some quirks they might need to find out or sort out.
I can always upgrade it down the line. But I think am plenty ok with the 10.25 “ for now.

hey
I tested out a demo for about 20mins at the shop that ordered it for me. Pretty nice interface. Has everything anyone could ever need including CarPlay. Has two preloaded interface: Android and the Mercedes interface.
You can switch between both interface anytime with no compromise to functionality. Its a relatively cheap upgrade that is definitely a must have for the W463.

Excited for this truck to arrive. ETA is 3weeks...urghhh
Sourced a brush bar on here yesterday.
All i need now is one rear headrest. Does anyone know if the W463 headrest is interchangeable with any other Benz model?
Will take some shots once i install everything.
