10.25 replacement screen install g63
My new screen just arrived for my 2013 g63. There are no installation guide specifically for the W463 so I am wondering if any of you had done this install yourself so I can have some insights. I think I would need to remove the screen and the cd radio box but there are little informations I can find on the internet on how to go about doing so.
Thanks in advance!
If no one has done so, I will try to figure it out myself and post the process here.
Why not just take it to a professional audio shop to get it done to avoid screwing up/burning the harness? My Indy shop did mine in about an hour & half.
it took them a good time before they could get the factory screen out.
I was able to get a look when they were doing it... what i saw was the trim around the center console/middle air vents/radio pops off easily with a tool, once it’s off the screws holding the radio becomes visible, then you can unscrew and pull the radio out to get to the back of the wiring
the sound quality is still the same as factory if not better since the screen has a built in equalizer and “loud” button.
When I first initially installed though , sound was clear and high quality but I was getting static background noise when I stepped on the gas, I ordered a ground noise loop adapter for less than $10 on Amazon and that canceled the static noise. Sound is super clear and high quality even better than factory.
You also have the option to go back to your factory NTG screen. The screen retains all factory functions.

I would want to fit it myself, so I would appreciate an installation guide!
I found this video on YouTube so it gives a good idea of how to take everything out:
Do you have to install the GPS antenna I couldn’t figure out why they would include that in the kit when the car has one itself!
Thanks Nik

Did you get the installation instructions with the kit?

I purchased this and also wanted to try to do it myself, but my car had carplay and it was more confusing so I took it to a professional. It's just detaching the differential lockers, the radio, then make sure you follow the instructions that were given to you with the head unit to plug the wires in accordingly. In regards to the GPS, the GPS for your car is not the same as for this android unit. The android unit needs its own GPS in order to function correctly, but if you do not use it for its own GPS and only use Carplay, then you can skip the GPS.
If it truly is plug and play then it should be straight forward. I’m on the fence about whether to go for the 10.25 or the 12.3

however I know I will place the dongle in reach to unplug from the usb if I have to use a dongle again.
works great, but sometimes if you need customer service, their translated english might be difficult to understand so please be openminded to that. Otherwise, no complaints and it's the cheapest around.
