I finally finished the lift, tires and wheels combo and couldn’t be happier. Took a gamble as I think I was the first one to try 18” Hutchinson Beadlocks on the new model G.
I don’t think the lift works if you have adaptive suspension.
And I’m not sure if the 18” wheels will clear the brakes on an AMG model. I’m assuming those would have bigger brakes???
I would recommend Jack Wagon Overlanding for your parts. Jack was so good to work with. And helped me a lot figuring out if this would all work.
18” Double bead lock Hutchinson Wheels $3200 total for all 4.
He can also get you the H & R Spring for a 1.5 inch lift.
I went with the Goodyear Wrangler Duratrac in a 285/65/R18. (31.5x11.5) They did rub a little in reverse on the vents inside of the fender. I had to trim the bottom three vents for it not to rub at all. I think with the 1.5 inch lift you could go one size smaller tire and not have to trim the vents at all.

I love your set set up. I have the adaptive susp. so I am still lookin for a solution to lift my 550. I see your from Utah or at least live here.
Who did the installation on your G?
finally had the chance to really test this lift/tire/wheel combo and couldn’t be happier. We spent a few days in Durango, Silverton, Telluride and Ouray. Drove over Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass. They were amazing. I wouldn’t consider them hard core 4 wheeling but the scenery is off the hook. At full flex the rear tires would kiss the inside of the fender but just barley. If someone was worried about cutting out the front wheel well fins like i did they could just go one tire size smaller. But I’m happy with this size tire.
Black Bear Pass Testing out the articulation Falling off the planet. My wife had her eyes shut on the switchbacks Imogene Pass “Poser Rock” 😀
Great looking truck and glad you're taking it offroad! I just started watching some YT videos about Black Bear Pass and Imogene and definitely want to venture over to that side of the country with the G in the next few years.
btw, could you give us some details on the rack set up you got ? i am looking around for a roof set up but seems like not much is available for the 2019+ Gs.
