40mm Spring spacers on W463 G63

Hi all

I currently have 31mm spacers on some A/T tires on my G63 W463. Recently someone suggested me to install 40mm spring spacers to get more of a lift while using stock suspension meaning struts and springs.

I am not familiar with 40mm spring spacers. I was wondering has anyone is using this setup on a W463 G63 without any issues?

I am worried handling might be affected but to start handling is a joke on the G63 anyway lol. Does anyone else run this setup with SPRING SPACERS ONLY?? I have searched and seen many with FOX SHOCKS and different springs.

Please let me know your thoughts and share any pics

I used spring spacers on two of my previous g wagons. They were G550’s and had no issues and still don’t to this day.
I have a G63 that I lifted with Thor Springs and fox shocks and while the ride was much more comfortable, the truck was very twitchy at highway speeds. I took the lift off and now I’m back to stock.
I am now thinking of putting the lift back on the G63 and either going to put caster correcting bushings on or order a set of Eurowise Radius Arms to help with the caster angle.

Lifting your g wagon with the spring spacers should not affect your caster angle and you will be good. You might want to swap out your stock shocks to make the ride a little more bearable.

If you want to go with radius arms lets use a set I had custom fabricated, but haven't installed on a G Wagon yet. I've been wanting to try them, but I've been building other trucks (like a new G63), so I haven't had time to try them out on any of the 2018 and older Gs. I think the caster bushings will solve your issues, but if you want to try the custom arms let me know.

I installed 40mm spring spacers with 31mm wheel spacers running on stock 20" with 285/55/20 Nitto Ridge Grappler. I also installed the Fox 2.0 adjustable at the same time. Im happy with this set up for now. Overall lift was about 3" and still have clearance to park the G in the garage but will NOT be able to have a roof rack.

do you mind posting some more pics of the setup too?

This looks really good. I have found some 50MM spacers for the stock suspension I will order them in the next few days. Does the fox shock add any height difference or nah?

I have Atturo A/T tires that look very similar to those Nitto but I got them for around $400 shipped in 275/55/20 has the aggressive tread pattern. Never heard of the brand atturo but on the Range Rover forums people say they are great. At $400 for full set shipped I couldn’t complain at all. They’ve been OK but are noisy but seem to do great in all types of situations.

How much was the install for the spacers did u need a alignment afterwards ?

sweet l322 too btw

Nah! The shocks did not lift the G at all, spring spacers & the new shoes did. I installed the everything myself & also did not have to remove the steering wheel linkage bolt so I didn’t have to do any wheel alignment. But I should still do it in the future since it’s not OEM anymore.

thanks. My 03 RR is still my daily but I rotate driving the G on occasion.

40mm is what I ran with 305's on my old G63.....50mm puts you closer to creating caster issues and 40mm cleared the 35's I test ran for a few weeks - but I decided the 305's were better in the end, wider and better handling.

It was totalled out - in fast it just went to auction last week..... looked like it topped 45k as-it-was....

I'm debating what the DD for the wife will be.... suspect we'll try to build up a G55 since it's a lower entry point and we can do a front winch bumper much more easily...... so been looking at a few, but they're hard to find in a color she likes...

Ah ok, Sorry to hear that it was totalled but the G served its purpose protected your family. Good luck looking for the next G.
