Hi everyone, i love my G63 however the tires are slippery in the snow. Any recommendations on snow tires that maintain the look , fit the current wheels and not crazy expensive?

Or wheel packages?
Thank you

Vredstein from Tire Rack. I don’t know what size wheels you have, I have 22 inch wheels.

Are you looking for tires to change out seasonally, or tires that you can run year round?

I’m switching tires, the dealership is storing my tires. I’ll have the summer tires installed in the middle of March. I ordered winter tires and having them installed Tuesday.

i have the 22inch wheels. Do the Vredstein fit on them? Or did you have to buy new wheels as well?

285/40/R22 factory size 295/40/22 using my factory wheels, swapping tires. Yes, they will fit on the factory wheels. No one makes a 295/40/22 winter tire.

A second set of wheels is a good investment. Reduces risk of wheel damage from changing tires twice each year and makes possible flipping sets yourself.

that’s what my other concern was, all of the switching could create damage to the wheelS. Any idea on what another set would cost? I have the 22 inch set

You should get 20” wheels with thick winter tires. Keep your summers on 22”

go blue ?

Agree - and you'll find a broader selection of winter tires in 20", probably priced lower.

285/45r22 fits. Lots of options to. I believe it’s a Cadillac Escalade / Dodge Ram 1500 oem size. The ride quality is much better than the oem summer tires.

Grab a set of knock offs from eBay. About $1,000-$1,400 depending on the style you get. There are several Brabus knock offs available in that price range.

Do you actually run with these? I’m curious whether there are any issues with the taller 45 profile over standard 40 on the stock 22” wheels. Here in MN snow tires definitely make a difference. Thus, two sets of wheels and/or tires is a must.

I’m running 285/40/R22 winter tires on my factory wheels. I’ll switch back to summer tires in the spring.

Yes I do. No issues at all. I had 285/40r22 originally but didn’t like how small they look plus the ride quality. Got the 285/45r22 this season and love em. I run Nokian Hakkapelita 9 Studded tires. Here’s some pics..

Looks great...thanks for sharing! Not sure where you live, but I wish MN would allow studded snow tires.

Just installed a set of the 20" trail package wheels with 275/55R20 BFG K02s. Love the look, just waiting for it to snow so I can get the car out on some back roads in the Rocky Mountains.

Do the 285 45 22 snow tires affect the calibration of the speedometer?

Any tire size that's different from your OE size will induce some amount of speedo error. Go to tiresize dot com and enter your OE tire and the tire size you plan to install. The % difference in circumferences (or diameters) is the same as the speedo error you'll have. I think the speedo can be re-programmed with a dealer's SDS if you're willing to pay. I changed to a 275/55R20 from the OE 275/50R20 and have a 3% error that isn't a problem for me.

I’m running 285/45/22” winter tires and it doesn’t affect the speedometer.
