2016 g63 coolant leak

What’s the best way to access the front area below the radiator. I got a coolant leak front drivers side dripping from the hook opening . Can’t see anything from the top. It s 2016 with 18k miles

Had the same problem. took it to the shop so i dont know the steps on removing, but the cost of the repair for me was $600. 2 coolant hose needed to be changed. Goodluck.

If youre trying to understand how to remove the bumper only, i would refer to car wrapping shops, they always know how to take the car apart.

I just had the same problem, but my coolant hose completely blew and puked out all the coolant. Had to get towed to the dealership. I was hoping my CPO warranty would have covered it, nope. CP but the dealership did give me a substantial discount since my factory warranty just expired in December.

Literally just picked it up from the shop - exact same problem. Cost me $300.00 to replace both coolant hoses at a local Mercedes Indy shop.

I thought my hoses cost more than that from the dealer.

That’s a bummer. My 2017 G63 just had its radiator replaced. $$$$. It was in for service and the tech noticed a crack in the radiator. The warranty had just expired, but the dealer took care of it since I’m such an awesome client of theirs.

There are two hoses that you need. Also, part 463 500 23 88.

Mine did the same thing, and on a whim I took it to a local radiator shop. They recrimped the aluminum to the plastic ends for no charge. They loosen up after cycling through temperature changes.

I know this thread is from a year ago, but I've recently had a slow coolant leak and suspected the usual hoses that tend to go bad. My 2015 G63 has 50k on her. Indy shop that specializes in G wagons says besides replacing several hoses and belts in the area that can be accessible once work is underway, he's also recommending replacement of the radiator. He showed me a picture of the underside of the radiator where the plastic is crimped on to the radiator that is sweating and will fail soon. Big $$$ to replace radiator now too and MB wanted to vin number of the truck before releasing the replacement radiator.

Several questions. Anyone else have this issue? Is it typical that these radiators fail in this manner and could this be a potential recall issue with MB if enough cases arise? One poster mentioned having a radiator shop re-crimp the metal hinges tighter to the plastic but I don't see that as a long term solution. I'm going to go ahead and have radiator replaced now for $$$ instead of $$$$ later but I'm not happy about it...

This repair isn't covered under warranty? I'm sitting on the side of the road with a coolant issue now. I just got this truck may three weeks ago. Hopefully they covered.

Looks like it was the upper rubber hose that split loose on my truck. The repair wasn't covered. Cost me a grand to fix. Should have the truck back tomorrow. All is well that ends well, I suppose.
