Coolant leak..time for Resevoir Tank Cap???
The car doesn't overheat and I can drive like normal and its fine. I noticed it doesn't spill past a certain point in the tank. I see streaks from the cap which leads me to believe when the coolant is hot and boiling it spurts from the cap. Is this indicative that the cap not holding pressure? Time for new cap? Or change whole tank?
Next time its had its fill of coolant and engine at operating temp, switch the engine off and see where its coming from. Likely its the neck of the tank or the hoses leading up to it.
Here are my thoughts:
-Given they are at the bottom of the tank,If it were any of the hoses, it would continue to leak till empty and overheat.
-If it were the cap, the new cap I got from the local MB dealership should have solved that.
Which leaves me with the tank itself as the culprit.
Makes sense?

On mine, it actually ended up being the "vent line" as Mercedes calls it that was leaking. Wasn't the actual expansion tank. Easiest way to check is when your truck is hot, pop the hood and wiggle the small coolant line that goes into the front of the tank. You may hear some coolant/steam escaping.
