the plastic side seat cover panel on my 2017 G550 driver seat is cracked and the squeaking is driving me insane. i found the part but looking for a how to guide on how to swap this part out.
The side seat cover is held in place by the bolt holding the seat belt. You will need to undo the bolt. I believe it is torqued with 30Nm but I could cross-check if that's interesting for you.
On the left side the cover is just clipped. In total its a 10 min job
The cap that is in front of the seat belt bolt can be removed by levering it upwards, starting at the bottom.
Hope this helps
Remove the little cover (just pull on it) and behind is T45 holding the seat belt
There is a T25 screw on the bottom back left of the seat that needs to be removed first. Make sure seat is all the way back to access it
Then, just rip out the old broken cover. Be careful with back part of the it, as it clips into other plastic (kinda round shaped) that's part of the seat
When installing, make sure this is first clipped into the metal bracket
Then this piece is clipped onto the metal bar on the seat. You have to lift the plastic up a little bit to clip it in
Then rest should snap in. Finish by re-installing the screw on bottom left of the seat
