Pending Orders: 8 Month Further Delay
Hey guys, I ordered my G63 back in September 2019 & I was suppose to receive the vehicle November 2020. There has been 2 delays between COVID & Chip Shortages which originally had extended my delivery to July/August 2021.
Well today, my dealer reaches out to tell me that all G63’s have been delayed by 8 months (see attached for reference). I am not sure if this is nationwide or just my specific dealer, but I wanted to share this with all who are awaiting their order and/or have been told otherwise recently. More interested in hearing otherwise, as I do feel I’m being hoodwinked.
Fortunately, I have a 2021 G63 I am in already so I am not bothered, but for those who have been expecting theirs to arrive this year, follow up with your dealer and see what the word is.

And how is it MB scheduled 400 G63 "special edition" vehicles into the assembly line, while yours remains an unassembled pile of parts in a crate parked somewhere off in a dark corner of the factory? I'd cancel the order and find another dealer who has a bit more pull with MBUSA.

Therein lies a risk of getting a vehicle at MSRP (not saying this applies to the OP). There's incentive for a dealer to bump an MSRP buyer off his next allocation if there's another buyer ready to write a check for MSRP + $50K. Some dealers are reputable -- some are not.

It would be interesting to know how many G63s this dealer delivered during the past 22 months, when each was ordered and what the ADMs were. I'm quite sure I could negotiate $20K off a G63 MSRP if I put down a $5K deposit and the sales order stipulates the dealer has no obligation to ever deliver the vehicle.

All 22 allocation has been wiped out and is being put back to 21 allocation.

Ordered 12/20 and was pleasantly surprised by a call from dealer that vehicle was produced 07/12/21 and a PO was provided. Given a six week eta which puts the vehicle at the dealer 09/01. My son ordered his c63s and expects delivery next week. His vehicle delayed supposedly due to microchip shortage. I would agree that your dealer is reallocating allocations for their benefit.
