Reset Oil Life Service Indicator?

Any tricks to reset it? My Indy shop could not after trying a couple methods when the oil was changed for the first time today.

Ignition position 1 and then hold the home button for 2 seconds and press left trackpad until workshop menu appears in which you select ASSYST PLUS

Thank you. Ignition Position 1 is just pushing the start button once, correct?

No luck, and I tried more times than I probably should have! Nothing happens if you push the ignition once and I even tried it twice, which is where you see that service is due. I pressed the Home button on the steering wheel and not the center console - does it matter? Was I supposed to continue holding the Home button after 2 seconds, while pressing the left trackpad button?

It should work even if you let go of the home button on the steering wheel (sorry I should had made it clear it has to be the home button on the steering wheel not the centre console, sorry for the confusion, glad you got that right though). Doesn't hurt to try by holding the home button too. Make sure your screen is set to trip and nothing else though because that can play a role and I should had mentioned you want all doors closed and windows closed too.

Thanks again but it still did not work. I even brought my wife down with her laptop to go over the steps. Also, I Googled it and it came up with a procedure using buttons on the right side of the steering wheel and that did not work either.

Hmmm that is strange..... do you mind taking a picture of the screen you are on so I can see if we can catch something we missed?

Wait.... I might have missed a step, see if it works if you hold down the back button and then the home button then press once on the left trackpad? Remember you have to be on the trip screen and not on other screens (ie. can't be on designs for example)

Sure, I will do that tomorrow. I was in the trip screen and probably tried it 20 times - I would open and close the door between each try and start over from scratch to be sure!

Sorry to hear that it didn't work for you this time, I might have forgot the amount of time you need to hold the button for, it might not be 2 seconds, let me check with my friends, I had a friend that had a 2020 G but I think he moved onto another vehicle last month, he does oil change himself so he resets it himself but I will reconfirm with him. I'll keep you posted when I hear back from him but keep me posted as well if you figure it out on your own. The reset procedure for my vehicle is completely different compared to yours especially since I have a pre-facelift C-Class so I don't think you should try the method in which I used on my own vehicle (if you do want to try, I can tell you but I really doubt it will work). Either way, I asked my friend and when I get a reply I will update you, otherwise from what I remembered, what I wrote up there should be the right method but I might had messed up the seconds.

Thanks for the help and I will continue to try things. I am hoping the Indy shop owner knows what to do tomorrow when he gets in since he was not there today when I was there at the end of their workday, and if so I will post here for others as well.

Do you want to try something else? Hold the home with back arrow button (the left side of the steering wheel, basically the side where the cruise control button is located) for 2 (you may also try holding for 5) seconds and then press the track pad beside it once. I want to make sure you aren't pressing the home button on the right side of the steering wheel (without the back arrow icon)
