MB suspending sales of 2022 AMG V8 models

My source has been reliable and I have no reason to believe things have changed.
Again, G production will continue to the end of the year, maybe into January and February. There will be a pause but it will return after a short hiatus thereafter in 22. This information was communicated by Mercedes to dealers last week. I suspect that many dealers/flippers will not share this info to create artificial scarcity.
I share this information so you do not pay the 100k markup. I receive nothing by providing this information.

I heard this too
I concur and validate the same information. There will be a 3-4 month delay and apparently dealers validated this with president of MBUSA. The G wagon is the most profitable model for MB. They will cease production for a few months due to supplier issues which is worldwide for all manufacturers. Production will ramp up in Q3 of ‘22 and they will be ‘23 models. I agree, dealers are taking full advantage of this and not disclosing the information and as such are asking ridiculous markups to ill informed buyers.

'19 G63 Ed 1,'18 M5, '16 G63,'12 458 , '11 E63, Brabus SL55-K8, '10 S63, '94 E500 "Wolf", '91 560SEC
Dealers definitely taking advantage. A few on the East and West coast start the trend and the rest follow. By chance, they change anything or do a mild facelift the latest and greatest folks will flock to them further vanishing any ADM premium paid. Things were starting to cool off right before this news.

I just spoke to a west coast dealer that has both a 550 and 63 in stock.
$150k markup on each
the 550 was $295!! I really hope no one pays that
many used ones im now seeing getting a few thousand knocked off.
maybe ill buy a defender haha

The only reason I would buy a G63 is that it retains it's value. At those prices, you'll lose more than a Range Rover after 1 year.

True
True as well, although the G-wagen was always a special vehicle but that price certainly doesn't make sense but those rich people will still pay the ADM I guess. I heard the Urus also retains value quite well but I might have heard it wrong.

Looking at used Urus for fun, it seems like it holds value but that's because most of the used ones have like 1,000 miles.
Agree with streborx, I've been meaning to call my insurance to find this out as well!

Thanks for your comment, I guess that is why I heard Urus hold their values from somewhere, that totally make sense.

Urus
Good reliability, It is an Audi, but it reminds me of Pontiac Aztec. The Aston DBX looks like the new Mitsubishi SUV and the new Ferrari SUV doesn't look great either

we test drove one for my wife before we bought bentley for her… the build came close to 300k… she will drive about 10k per year… the car will be worth about 200k after two years of use so will depreciate alot especially with 20k miles on it. Hence why most used Urus have minimal miles on them… at least with bentley car came to about 220k… less headroom to depreciate lol. I loved the performance but styling very muted. doesnt compare to a G63.

Is not just customers who pay all the money for G63. Dealers also pay good money for anything 2019 and over. My dealer just paid MSRP for a 2019 G63 with 15k miles. Customer also paid MSRP back in 2019 as we don't charge ADM for in state customers.

1. Buyer's remorse (engaged checkbook before brain)
2. Payments weren't worth cutting back to one meal/week
3. Nowhere/no reason to drive it
4. Simply didn't like it
None of the above apply to a G (well maybe #1 at current prices).

I spoke to my insurance agent (State Farm) this morning. He said State Farm, and virtually all other carriers, will look at the current market price and compensate you for the "replacement cost." He also said his phone has been ringing off the hook because a lot of people have the same question
