I couldn’t find anything online, the current one says it is made by Mann, but when checking Mann’s website they don’t list a cabin air filter for the G550….
Nothing at Amazon…

Going to try some other local parts places

I did find a filter (last pic) for the G63 on Mann’s website…anyone know if it is the same…?
1). Open hood
2). Look in the far back corner on the passenger side
3). Push in the two clips and lift out the housing

Hardest part was/is finding the replacement filter. I ended up ordering through Walmart from a shipper in Canada. It was cheap too, about $23.00.
I checked my engine air filters and they looked new, however, the cabin air filter kind of hangs out there in the open, I was surprised how dirty it was (especially compared to the others)

that will give you MB Part# - and site will automatically give you a "local area" Dealer MSRP and Dealer Inv on hand for that Part.
2nd - on a standard "intake cabin filter" you reference - a Google search will bring up choices/alternates
you are doing the right thing - frequent replacement is best practice - easy and cheap - MB, Mann, Hengst - about the "same" for cabin intake
the guys at fourbyfourclub.com might have a "trickster" washable/reusable upgrade - they are those kinddof guys in a good way as mudster/desert blasters
3rd - the "recirculation cabin filter" - on that one a "wide" variety of aftermarket options there - including some that are "more hype than substance"
I posted a thread on this forum about a year ago - it might still be on the old forum - includes MB p/n, where it's located in the engine compartment and how to swap it out. Search for "cabin filter". Some parts data bases list the incorrect p/n for MY 2019+, so double check before ordering. I get them from autohausaz.com for less than $20.

I'd be interest in knowing if there's a second filter also. I've never found one -- usually they're behind the glove box, but I don't see any evidence of a removable panel in this area.

The main air intake cabin filter is where the service manager indicates - on the passenger side in the engine compartment against the firewall - but there's no evidence of an alternate intake from the cabin for recirculation.

Out of curiosity, I removed the glove box assembly to see what I could see. In the exploded view assembly drawing above, the part identified as (1) is behind the center console and glove box. The fan turbine (18) and the portion of (1) into which it seats is directly behind the glove box. On top of this (not shown in this drawing) is an actuator that opens and closes a vent to the intake filter that's in the engine compartment. This is where the recirculation air appears to be taken in also. If the rest of this drawing is accurate, this puts the recirculation filter (19) behind the center console vents. This is where my curiosity (curiously enough) ended. Yanking the center console (or maybe the navigation panel) is something I don't want to try at home.
Think I'll just keep the intake cabin filter replaced frequently and wipe up any dust in the cabin so I can avoid for as long as possible replacing this recirculation filter.
Let us know how things go on this. Maybe I'm overlooking something obvious, but I see no easy access to this filter.
(BTW, autohausaz.com's price on this filter is $40.49)

Overall the New Gen G-Wagen's have this Activated Charcoal Filter - which is NOT unique to G's since most New Gen Luxury MB's have the same Filter-Procedure.

Many thanks for this! Not at all obvious when I had the glove box unit removed. When I looked in this footwell area, all I saw was the screw-attached panel with the airbag identification embossed on it, and that was enough to scare me away.

The 9037 is supposed to arrive tomorrow and the G is gone on a road trip u til after Christmas…I guess I will take a closer look then.
Just finished replacing this recirculation cabin filter, and I'll probably not do it again for as long as I own the truck. Took me about 3 hours, and I rate the task an 11 on a 10 point scale (changing out the transmission in my YJ wasn't much harder). I was going to write up a few DIY notes and post a couple pics to help others, but instead here are my thoughts:
1. The procedure in the service note attached to post #15 above has a step (1) "Remove trim", and references another service note AR68.10P-1502XG. Removing this trim piece, which is retained by several hidden fasteners, is extremely difficult and non-obvious. I can't describe how to do this even having managed to do it.
2. Removing the old filter wasn't too difficult, and the new one went in without any problem. Reinstalling the filter's trap door was difficult due to its location, seating, and slide fastening mechanism. You can't position yourself to see this area, a mirror and light help, but it's still mostly feeling around with your hands.
3. Getting the trim piece back into position and getting its hidden fasteners snapped in wasn't much easier than its removal.
Bottom line -- keep your intake cabin filter changed frequently, keep your windows up, and vacuum and wipe up dust in the truck's interior so that this recirc filter doesn't need to be replaced. Even if you have it done at a dealership, everything might not get put back together correctly and without damaged fasteners. If your dealer denies that this filter exists, it's because he doesn't want to do the job for any price.
Just went through my annual replace windshield wipers and cabin air filters across all our cars and I’m the dummy on this forum that snapped the plastic on the side of the housing that the combined filter+top housing clips into (not the clips holding the filter inside the housing or the clips on that removable top housing. This is the mounting receptacle for that housing). Wondering if I’m on the right track here with the replacement: Air Duct - (463-830-11-01-64)
