G-Wagon Returning for 2022 - Builds Beginning in May

I can see them getting a few ridiculous ADMs for the people who want one of the first 22s, but not once they’re available at all dealers again.

In November I snagged a new incoming GLS and picked it up the dealership first week of Jan - they didn’t have a single new SUV in stock (lots of c classes though).

Even with the used (aka brand new by nearly all standards) inventory through the roof? There’s nearly 1,000 listed between classified sites, and new ones being made again (that are identical to the 19s).

Absolutely. It will probably drop the prices of the used ones a bit. Although I doubt you will see any big drops. It is sounding like allocations will be very small. We still get calls every single day from all over of the country from people looking for brand new G wagens.

This is great news!! I've had my order placed since 2/2021. I'll see. I do drop ins at my dealership to compare what's posted on this blog vs what my salesperson tells me. Found this article today. I hope the MB manufacturer get involved in the price gouging these dealerships are promoting! There has got to be a consumer law against what dealerships are charging for these vehicles. If a US lawyer is on this thread, what say you?

This is on the MB USA website.

My excitement is clouding my comprehension. Is this memo instructing dealerships to review, prioritize or delete existing MY21 customer orders that's already in their order bank and to leave them in the order bank if the order(s) is still valid (a deposit paid and the customer still wants the GWagon)? I'm not understanding what 'prioritizing' is about. Are they allowing the dealerships to order GWagons based on which customer they want to place an order for? I think they will only delete orders if the customer change their mind. Lastly, My21 orders left in the order bank by the dealership will be converted to My22's orders by MB?
Just need clarity so I can discuss with my salesperson. Thanks

Where are all the people on this forum who were sure from their insider knowledge that V8 MBs are gone forever from the US market?
Looks like the V8 lives on, great news. I guess the hybrid V6 boogey-man can go away for now.

Here is what I got from one of the local dealers up here in Minneapolis. What a joke
"We are not taking any orders for the 2023 G Wagon. We are building them when we get allocation and are selling them to the highest bidder per the boss"

Now for those that were convinced and hell bent that the G interior was going to be re-designed ala S class with Tesla screen.

Other than providing good customer service , there is no motivation to take orders. If the money is the same why not let the market decide the price. I wouldn't be surprised if most dealers take this approach.

Likely MB North America prioritizes USA first before they shift their focus on MBCA, we always get the short end of the stick, unfortunately (well for pretty much everything not just cars). Our population isn't as high as across the boarder for example.

That is indeed the case. They're keeping their eyes open for a similar bulletin to drop. Let's see what happens.

Also its a shame that we're always second fiddle given Canada buys the most AMG's per capita in the world.

WENT TO DEALER TODAY!
100k PLUS 170k ! The dealerships have now added the “premium fee” now I suggest no one go through with this because once it all settles down you’ll have paid 270k for a car you will not get your money back for. I’m seeing 2021 g wagons for 400k it’s ridiculous and they are price gouging. I’m sorry fellow g wag fans I might be switching to the new range unfortunately this is getting out of hand .

I thought dealerships here are price gouging too. Maybe the ones you went to are sold at MSRP if it is part of the Toronto Retail Group which are currently owned by MB Canada (not for long though.)
