G-Wagon Returning for 2022 - Builds Beginning in May

Gap insurance is really only for leasing or financing, they don't offer it for folks who pay cash. You can get Agreed Value insurance through firms like Chubb and Hagerty, as well as some American Family branches. It was $400 more per month via Chubb to insure an additional $30k ADM (I got a 21 63 before the announcement).
I ended up going with Liberty Mutual who had a 120% payout for their "New Car Replacement", which covered my ADM if anything were to happen. I think it was an additional $12 per month. Was just going to reassess in 12 months when the policy renewed, but ended up selling it for $100k over MSRP after 4 months (I miss it every day, 10/10 do not recommend).

You are fighting a losing battle here lol. No member will be taking this side unless they work for a dealer like yourself. Also all luxury manufacturers have posted record sales and record profits during covid so not sure how you want us to sympathize? Even more so when loyal customers are now being treated like poop, we have zero sympathy when you guys are biting the hand that feeds you.

I don’t work for a dealer and I bought my last G at MSRP. Also have a deposit for another one at MSRP and will never pay an ADM for a Mercedes.
That said, this is a free market system. If everyone who was offered a G with ADM said no, dealers would stop asking for ADMs.
At the current moment in time, this vehicle is a limited resource. Price will be set by the free market until demand is met or potential buyers establish a new price ceiling.
if MBUSA really cared about the ADM situation they could just prohibit dealers from charging ADMs and squash the whole thing.

10/10 do not recommend what? Sorry didnt follow you. I paid 35k over msrp and love my G63. I’m one of the guys promised at MSRP 2 years prior and then faced the $50k adm when the car arrived. I negotiated it down to $35k due to the quick slap and my prior history with the dealer and other high end vehicles. I love this truck and am glad I bought it despite the ADM. Just yesterday the dealer called back offering me $20k over what I paid so he can sell it for $100k over to someone looking for my exact spec. I’m not selling. Just a personal decision but everyone’s situation is different.

I was told next month. I believe some dealers will put you in line before they actually get allocations. Just depends on how much activity that particular dealer gets.

Putting an order in means zero really. I mean you have to put an order in to get an allocation, but having an order put in holds no significance until you get the call with an allocation and a purchase order number.
I have multiple “orders in” but I know I won’t be getting a 2022 unless a number of people change their minds.
Until then we are all in the same boat until the factory starts green lighting allocations.
Our dealer friends here I’m sure will update the thread when managers start dealing out allocations. Good luck to everybody.

I got my 21 G63 for msrp and will be danged if I will pay over sticker for any newer model. I am speaking for myself and not others and could care less if someone wants to pay an ADM. I wont judge that way! I will just change brands if I have too. Sure I wont have my first pick. But many times the 2nd pick can be just as good. Take the money I save and upgrade my boat (:

Wow, thats a percentage for sure. I know a person ordering a new Escalade and she was told that would be quite a wait as well. She told me they said msrp for that one. Well when it comes trade time I hope I can be that 8% difference.

I just read yesterday (multiple news sources) that used car prices are up an average of 45% for Jan 2022 vs Jan 2021. 45% YOY increase is just nuts. Things have to cool down at some point but industry veterans suggest it will take at least a couple more quarters before used car pricing starts to cool off. Supply-chain related mainly.

I know this has been brought up multiple times, but I placed an order, paid a deposit and got clearly stated on my config “deal subject to MSRP”. This was June 2020, when Msrp was possible because of covid…. In may 2021 my salesperson told me that I was number 2 on the list.
Now I got a call last week from the dealer that they want to give back the deposit, because they “didn’t maintain the waitlist”. I could order a new one, but this would be vs market price (so large ADM I guess). Could anyone give me any advice whether it makes sense to seek legal help? In 2020 they were happy to take my order, now the world changed and it is not honored….

Typically vehicles show up around 2 months after production if they aren’t held hostage at the VPC. With it being a new model year, wouldn’t put it past the government to do so as emissions etc are worked out.
