G-Wagon Returning for 2022 - Builds Beginning in May

They beg the customers that have been given a G to then buy them back with like under 1000 KM on it and sell it as "used" which they can then apply the ADM to.
At my dealership they will only allocate a new G to existing customers with good purchase history and even then its a 2-4 year wait.

Im in Vancouver and all the MB owned dealerships switched hands already. Are they price gouging? Canadian dealers (no matter the ownership) are forbidden to sell for anything over MSRP for a new car, you must be talking about used which is the loophole Canadian dealerships are using.

I am also aware of the wait time (kind of as I didn't know it was 4 year long wait I thought it was 2 max).

INSURANCE FOR OVER MSRP
The funny thing is if anyone buys these cars 100k over the MSRP and crashes it … guess what the insurance company is paying you out? The MSRP only. Y’all would need gap insurance on that extra 100k you paid to the dealers. writing a collision policy for $100K over MSRP? 👎🏼 Won’t happen

The extremes on this board are pure entertainment...
The announcement of limited allocations for 2022MY is not going to tank the 2021 G63 market... It is also not going to completely slash ADM's.
It's likely that all the 2022MY allocations are already spoken for as large market dealers all have 1-2 year waiting lists with clients that have been waiting since the suspension. If you get on a list now, you might get a 2023MY.
My prediction is that ADM's will remain high but you may see some of the crazy asking prices start to come down. Everyone needs to remember that the G63 had a healthy waiting list with ADM prior to the pandemic and even more so prior to the production suspension announcement.
This idea that now you will be able to walk into a dealer and order a G63 without a wait and/or ADM is pure fantasy.

I bought 2 Gwagons in 2019 and 2020 and had no dealer mark up so I don’t know what crap you are trying to spew on this thread. And My sales person just ordered another one for me MSRP -the wait is 12 months. The only reason I even did this experiment is because I couldn’t get in contact with him for two days so I went contacting around 50 different dealers. And all of them want that ADM correct but if you’ve been with the brand your current sales person is not going to charge you these ridiculous mark ups. And my fiancé in 2019 just walked his big head in there and ordered a g wagon was here in 6 month this is 2019 And he had no prior Mercedes I actually forced him to switch from Range Rover.
But regardless, you prove the point you’re arguing if you had to call 50 dealers now, in 2022 and they all have ADM, all 50 you called, OK. But you ordered 2-3 years ago from someone you have a relationship with… and IF you were able to order one now in ‘22 at MSRP (which is not even known yet, because the guide was just posted today with price as TBD), so that sounds like an anomaly, not the norm for most people interested to buy.
People here are pretty informed about the current market. But since you state so that people who are exchanging real info with each other are “spewing crap”, maybe you wanna share your dealership and your sales guys name, so everyone here who is looking for a G at MSRP can give him some business?
Let’s see him make even one MSRP deal with someone here (who is not you) in the next 30 days. Guessing there are more than a few peeps here who would love that info, (even with a year wait). And I am sure they will happily share their experience on this forum when it happens.
Happy to be completely wrong, but even I one person here gets one ordered at MSRP from your guy, it’s worth the effort. So please share with us… we will wait

I will share
You’re taking that screen name serious. Not sure if you’re trying to flex because you say you have multiple G wagons with another one on the way (maybe?) or what your motivation is to be aggressive on the forum, it’s just weird…

100k PLUS 170k ! The dealerships have now added the “premium fee” now I suggest no one go through with this because once it all settles down you’ll have paid 270k for a car you will not get your money back for. I’m seeing 2021 g wagons for 400k it’s ridiculous and they are price gouging. I’m sorry fellow g wag fans I might be switching to the new range unfortunately this is getting out of hand .

Last year, I waited 9 months for my 2021 G63 allocation. If you read my post again you will see I specifically said: "wait and/or ADM". Some people are waiting 6+ months and getting allocations at MSRP, some are waiting and still paying ADM (usually smaller), and some are taking immediate allocations at large ADM's. There is no one-size-fits-all process at every dealer. It will vary greatly depending on your region and/or the relationship you have with that dealer.
So you are "waiting" 12 months with your dealer and getting one at MSRP which is exactly one of the scenarios I outlined in my post and somehow I'm spewing crap in this thread?

Do dealers now actually have allocations with PO#s for 2022s and know how many they received this past week? If they received allocations, do they know any ETAs? I was told to wait another week or so before they’d have a better idea of allocations…but that the order bank is open.

MBUSA said they will be allocating cars later this month.

Would you be so kind enough to tell us when the actual allocations come through? I'd like to know when I should bother my dealer about his allocations

Likely late this month but get in your dealer's ear sooner than later if you're serious about buying. Allocations are going to be very limited, not a market changing dump of new cars.

Meeting with a dealer in two weeks to discus with Sales Manager, They said they are reasonable................hope that means a realistic number. Its a bummer being a real buyer of a 150k car and having to almost pled the case for a deal...............ugggggggggg.

I'll play devil's advocate from the side of the dealer. They probably went from selling 40-50 cars a month down to 6-10. People are jumping to pay $75k or more for G's right now. That makes up a lot of lost sales on their end.

Dealers made more money in 2020-2021 than they ever have in the past...

You are fighting a losing battle here lol. No member will be taking this side unless they work for a dealer like yourself. Also all luxury manufacturers have posted record sales and record profits during covid so not sure how you want us to sympathize? Even more so when loyal customers are now being treated like poop, we have zero sympathy when you guys are biting the hand that feeds you.

I ended up going with Liberty Mutual who had a 120% payout for their "New Car Replacement", which covered my ADM if anything were to happen. I think it was an additional $12 per month. Was just going to reassess in 12 months when the policy renewed, but ended up selling it for $100k over MSRP after 4 months (I miss it every day, 10/10 do not recommend).
