New vehicle delivery at different dealer?

Does Mercedes offer this? Porsche does this quite often so I am wondering if Mercedes does as well. Basically, I would buy from an out of state dealer and have MB send it to my local dealer instead. I asked the dealer that got my deposit and they told me they would look into it but I have not heard back.

Depends on the dealership. A courtesy delivery fee would have to be negotiated. Most dealerships prefer not to do it.

Thanks, just as most Porsche dealers! I may just have them ship it to me when the time comes unless I can sweet-talk my local dealer into participating.

I'm guessing EQGs are going to be allocated to most favored dealers to start with, hence your out-of-state order. Buying out-of-state usually isn't a problem -- I just bought an X7 from a dealer in a neighboring state, and aside from a couple extra signatures, it was no more difficult than an in-state purchase (it included a trade as well). Of course your local dealer will be delighted to service it for you, once his staff receives technical training for it. Is there some specific reason you want to close the deal locally?

Just because it would be more convenient. I have bought other vehicles out of state in the past so I am familiar with the process and other than going to the dealer it is the same. And I have plenty of time though since now it appears they may not be out until the 2025 model year since they will be using the Sila battery tech.

My greatest concern was driving my Lexus 400 miles to the BMW dealership and arriving without a cracked windshield or any other damage (20 miles from home we saw a guy hit a deer, adding to our anxiety). But driving the new X7 back home across lightly traveled secondary roads was a blast.

That happened to me: I was driving a 2006 MB SLK350 to a dealer about 500 miles away as a trade-in and 50 miles out a rock chipped the windshield, and it started to spread by the time I got there but while they looked it over for dents or scratches they never noticed the crack. Needless to say we collected the new car and got of there quickly.

As I wrote yesterday, this seems to me to be a case of “Fraud in the inducement”. That is a legal term meaning a person tricked another person into signing an agreement to one’s disadvantage by using fraudulent statements and representations. Again, I would consult counsel or at least threaten to.
