As far as I can tell, market is still $50K+ over MSRP (at least in the NY metro area).

Clearly it’s a YMMV situation.
I’m paying MSRP but I’m on a waitlist for the G63 with my dealer probably another 6-12 months. Bought my G550 at MSRP from them last year as well so I’m not in a rush.
if you are willing to wait there are dealers who will sell at MSRP. If you need it ASAP be prepared to pay whatever the market will tolerate.

If you are willing to wait it out and talk to different dealers, MSRP is out there. I am in the middle of an MSRP build right now.

With that being said, a lot of G leases are coming up this year. Many people who bought during the height of the market are trying to sell them off. How many real estate agents bought these when they were selling a/an (overpriced) house a week.

I did talk to another dealer who had 4 open slots for Q1 builds but they still wanted 25-50k over MSRP. Two years ago, all slots would be full with an ADM.

Do you mind sharing which state(s) are doing MSRP. I have tried CA, GA, TX, FL and all want 15k plus mark up still.

Any dealer doing MSRP is going to be for locals only or at least in state residents.

If your local dealer isn’t doing msrp, right now you aren’t going to get msrp from an out of town dealer. Reality.

To be clear, I have been on two dealers list, upfront that I would buy at MSRP since 2019 and 2021. I would visit your dealer, ask to be put on the list and say you are ready to buy at MSRP. Say you know that there are people out there who are willing to pay above MSRP but you would rather just stay with MSRP.

It might take you a year or a dealer might just offer to you. Now if you are in LA or NY where people just have tons of money and don't care, you might never get that call.

Just called about one in Carlsbad although it is clear across the country because the price looked really good. Got the sales rep, said yes we have that. Is the price 201 as advertised? Yes, plus 50k whatever fee he called it. I think he might have said something like margin, it was not mark up. That really is aggravating. I told him why don't you price it accordingly so you don't waist my time nor yours? We looked at a 21 exact same G package etc at 229k yesterday in Palm Beach with 2k miles. Was wondering about the crazy price difference, now I know.

Call them back and send them an email.

State that you are willing to buy at the advertised price. If they say they have an extra hidden fee, so that is fine, you are reporting them to the CA DA (or local DA) and also to the FTC. And then follow through.

I once reported a business in California to the local DA and tell you what, I got a letter from them quickly and the issue was resolved.

Thanks, I was looking for a date on that article, trying to determine if they are breaking a law based on the shady advertising. I don't have an issue with markups, that's capitalism, but I do have a problem with it not being disclosed in the price advertised. Price it at 251, not 201k.

honestly, i think these expectations are not realistic… most core regions are above msrp… its a unicorn to find one at msrp… a G63 for sure. a major dealer by me doesnt even have any ‘23 allocations available in Nj. i paid 30k adm for a car with msrp of 212k… it is what it is… yah maybe i could have waited two years with no msrp but thats two years of not having a G. To me, the car is worth $242k. but in 99.9% of cases, you will pay ADM. Why? They don’t need to sell these cars at MSRP.

Now, i am on the list for refresh model at msrp but i got on it 2 years in advance of it coming out…

As you see, I was on the list for 2+ years. While the G-Wagon was nice, I got to enjoy a brand new F350 while waiting to pay MSRP and not an ADM.

MBUSA won't allow a new car to be advertised at anything other than MSRP. "Dealer sets final price" allows for both discount and ADM pricing.

Complete waste of time. Dealer will just laugh. It says right next to the price that Dealer sets the final price.

thought same and completely agree… not reality and how it works. my buddy just walked into my dealer and offered a 20k ADM on a killer white G63 and was rejected. that was 5 days ago and no call back since then. Not reality.

I just placed my order for a new G63 build today, at msrp. Its my 3rd current body G63 at sticker. 2019/2021/new build placed. Its best to make a good relationship with your dealer. More so if your buying multiple vehicles a year with them. I have a few friends in other states get 22 G63 recently for sticker. Give it a month or two and you will see more closer to sticker or at sticker.
