2021 g550 transmission issue or normal?

Hello I was trying to see is anyone is having the transmission jerk out of 2nd gear or feeling awkward I’ve been having the issue and the first time the dealer said we drove one on the lot and it’s normal then recently within 700 miles of that I took it back and told them it’s just abnormal and it staying in 2nd gear a little longer and kind of shutters and then shift with a jerk at lower speeds in traffic so they’ve done a software update and reset the transmission to factory setting again and needs to relearn on a full tank of gas. Also was told it’s not a s class which had nothing to do with its abnormal shifting out of 2nd gear. After the update it doesn’t jerk as bad but it’s way to fast to shift out of second gear where by the time it even speeds up it’s shifting out of 2nd. In addition it’s only got 3100 miles.

Tell them to do SCN coding and/or stand still adaption.

drive it more aggressively for 100 miles and it'll learn that shifting style

SCN coding is pretty much a MB term, but tell them to do it and they should help you do it it usually corrects software issues, or reset adaptation to factory and hopefully it starts to relearn your driving habit, the stand still/forced adaptation is a method of forcing to adapt all gears including reverse and drive, it is available for the dealership to perform under the star diagnostic system/xentry diagnostics.

2021 G63 AMG - Matte Black
i have a 2021 G63 and experienced similar issues with a jerky downshift from 5th to 4th. I raised my concerns with the service rep twice. The first time they said they couldn't replicate the problem and updated the software. i brought it back after the problem persisted and they performed an IPR test. The transmission failed what is called an IPR test. IPR stands for “Intelligent Predictive Repair” which is a detailed electronic test performed with a diagnostic device. The test communicates with the transmission and will determine if a repair needs to be done after extrapolating and analyzing the data.

In my case the IPR test came back with a result advising the technician to replace the transmission due to an internal fault. I didn't get more details despite asking.

They replaced the transmission (under warranty) but I'm still experiencing this jolty down shift from 5th to 4th gear. It's less frequent but still present. At the very least ask them to perform an IPR test.
