Does anyone have any tips on getting the wireless charging to work consistently? I’ve tried taking off the cover to my iPhone and the phone still won’t charge consistently. Also what is the holder inside the center armrest for - will this charge the phone?
I had issues with my S580 until I upgraded my phone from 12 to 15....haven't experienced any issues on the '25 G class yet.

I initially had an issue with my 16 Pro Max in a Nomad case but it resolved by pressing the phone firmly against the charging pad.Originally Posted by Magnoblack

Wireless charging is bad and its hard to see the phone. Personally, I don't use carplay. i use the magbak case with its magnets mounted over the locker switches and a 1 foot USB C cable from the lower console to the phone. I have to plug it in, but it works great and charges faster than wireless i think.
I haven’t had any problems with my iPhone 16 Pro Max using a Speck grip case with my G 63. The G 580 has a larger charging pad. It’s kind of hard to get the phone in and out.

I'm the opposite. To me, Carplay is a game changer, I can't imagine going back to using a physical mount and swiping on a small iPhone screen once you're used to seeing it projected onto the much larger on board screen.Originally Posted by drew138

Wired charging is of course always faster, but the wireless charging pads on the Mercedes is actually quite good and already has fast charging (up to 15W if I'm not mistaken which for models prior to iPhone 16 is already the maximum), I do have a charging cable tucked away in my center armrest just in case my phone battery is really low/dead or if someone else in the car needs to charge, but otherwise I enjoy not having the clutter of a physical phone mount or charging cables hanging around the center console. I agree that the charging pad makes the phone hard to see but I believe that is by design, and if you're already using Carplay then this becomes a moot point.
I highly recommend giving it a shot if you haven't already.

I agree, I wouldn’t want to go back to the command system. Car Play is much better!Originally Posted by Darkest2000
