Need Feedback - Aftermarket Exhaust

Hey everyone — I’m looking for some real input from G owners who’ve actually run these setups.

I’m about to upgrade the exhaust on my 2025 G63 AMG. I’ll be keeping the OEM cats, just replacing the cat-back system for sound and character. I’m not tuning the truck and I don’t want to touch emissions — just want more drama and presence when I drive.

Here are the three exhausts I’m considering. All quotes below include install:
  • Fi Valvetronic Exhaust (Black tips) – $9,008.00 installed
  • Eisenmann Valved Exhaust – $8,163.86 installed
  • Akrapovič Evolution Line (Titanium) – $12,685.88 installed
    • However, I’ve got another vendor offering Akrapovič for $10,900 installed, which makes this a lot more tempting.
What I’m mainly after is sound. I want the G to feel more theatrical when I drive — loud cold starts, crackles, that deep V8 muscle you expect from a $250K truck. I still want it to be livable with the valves closed, but when open I want it to turn heads.

From what I’ve gathered:
  • Fi is the loudest and most exotic sounding
  • Eisenmann is more mechanical and balanced
  • Akrapovič is the most refined and high-end, but also the quietest of the three?
Would love to hear your feedback if you’ve had any of these, especially how they sound with stock cats.

Thanks in advance!

IMO Fi Valvetronic Exhaust the is the most insane sounding and adds a ton of drama, too much for my taste.
The Eisenmann is the perfect balance, plus no highway drone. The only thing with the Eisenmann is that the triple tips are hideous. If you could retain stock tips or get close to stock, that’s the one I’d go with.
(I don’t even consider Acrapovic for personal reasons)
Again this is my opinion, and exhaust just like colour and options, are totally subjective.

Cheers

I have the Fi Exhaust in black tips for a couple months and it has been great. Loud but not too loud with a great tone. Their customer service is great as well if you have any questions

Fi is my exhaust of choice, as I have done it on several G Wagons. They do not have confirmed fitment on the 2025 yet though (as of a few weeks ago). I just got my hands on a 2025, and plan to get some measurements this weekend to see if the '19-'24 system will work. From a quick glance, it looked like maybe the valve acutators are in a different location on the 2025, but it's been awhile since I installed one so I can't recall for sure. I'll report back if I figure anything out.

I got a Fi recommended to by @The Butcher and it sounds perfect. Due to the insulation of the G - it needs to be loud to hear it at all inside the car.

Was in the same boat and I know exactly what you mean. You're chasing quality of sound, not just loud. Back in the day when Eisenmann made a "Sport" muffler, that was the gold standard. Today they make a loud exhaust with (as mentioned) three ridiculously ugly tips that look like they belong on a Civic Type R. I'm blown away that a company with such an incredible history of making AMG exhausts in-house would release a product like that.

After obsessively watching every you tube video on every exhaust for these cars, the truth is that the stock AMG exhaust is almost perfect. Yes, it could be louder for sure, but tone/bass is spot on. For context, here's a video of my old E55 with an Eisenmann Sport exhaust. Again, this was at a time when the AMG exhaust was good but not great. Today, the out of box AMG exhausts are great and really the only way to improve them IMHO takes away from that incredible sound. If you do get more sound, they end up being way too raspy which again imho defeats the whole purpose.

Looks like a good and cost effective alternative.

Thats what scares me about the Akrapovic systems too. You can buy replicas that are literally 1:1 for a couple thousand dollars on Ebay. Of course you'll never know what the internals look like because just like the system you posted, it'll probably sound louder than stock. And then thats the other issue, a couple thousand for a cheap China made replica? That's not great either.

On the Akra, there are a few sets for sale but every time I ask for a receipt from original purchase or warranty cards or serial numbers, I get radio silence. I'm left to believe they're fakes being pawned off as the real thing.

Oh wow. In that case, FI exhaust may be the way to go, but they don’t have any 2025+ systems. I don’t know if their O2 spoofer or 200-cell DPs will pass emissions though.

I hear you 100%. Unicorn set up would be a proper cat back system leaving all the sensors and filters in place, but just getting a little more volume out of it. No CEL, no warranty issues, just more decibels of the existing sound!

Hey everyone - thanks for the feedback !

Just a heads up for anyone wondering — there might be other brands out there, but so far I’ve confirmed that Brabus and Akrapovic both make exhaust systems specifically for the 2025 G63 W465. The W463 setups don’t fit because of changes in the underbody and mounting points.

That pretty much narrows my options down to these two for now.

Akrapovic is full titanium with super clean welds, gives off that exotic, high-pitched tone, and has a sharp but refined cold start. There’s a good amount of content out there, so it’s easier to get a feel for how it actually sounds on the road.

Brabus is deeper, more aggressive — that signature AMG rumble with a much bolder cold start. It definitely leans more toward a muscular, raw sound. Only downside is there aren’t a ton of solid sound clips or reviews out there for the Brabus setup on the W465 specifically — most are from tuned G800 builds or showroom previews.

I’m placing my order today through my vendor but still running through every YouTube video and reel I can find to make the final call. Both have their appeal — Akra is sharp and exotic, Brabus is loud and brute. If anyone’s running either on the new chassis, would love to hear your experience.

FWIW, a buddy of mine has a Brabus 900. The thing sounds mental. Comparing it to the videos of the Akra, I’d go Brabus 100%.

But you have to hear it in person. I wouldn’t spend $10K on an exhaust without hearing it first.

My Fi Exhaust rep emailed me overnight to confirm their system works with slight modification to some factory heat shield bolts. I've requested some more detail information on what modifications are needed. I'll report back when I get a response.

Decided to go with Akrapovic exhaust and tips for my 2025 G63 (W465) — scheduled for install once I’m back from a business trip the first week of August.
  • S-ME/T/13H – Akrapovic Exhaust Catback: $8,800
  • TP-T/S/24/1 – Akrapovic Tail Pipe Set: $1,700
I decided to go with the Akra even though there are only a handful of sound clips out there for the W465 platform. It’s definitely a bit of a gamble, but based on the pricing I see online, I felt like I got a good deal from my buddy’s shop (located in Southern CA). Hoping it delivers that clean, deep tone even with stock cats.

Once it’s installed, I’ll post a video and do my best to capture the sound accurately for anyone else on the fence about this setup. Will report back soon.

Appreciate everyone’s input!

Appreciate the offer brother - did you have a W465? Apparently there are slight variations, I think with the hangers or something that are different between the W463 and 465. Decided to play it safe a order one specific for the 465 from my buddy’s shop.

For the Fi system, there is a heat shield bolt that needs to be cut down a little just to make sure there isn't any contact with the exhaust when you hit bumps, etc. It will probably vary a little on each vehicle, but it is a pretty easy fix. There is also a bolt that they recommend getting a lower profile head for extra clearance. Lastly, the exhaust hangers on their system need to be a little longer for peace of mind. They shouldn't fall out of the factory rear hangers, but just for extra security they are going to lengthen the studs that are on the muffler that go into the rubber hanger towards the rear.

Would love if you could spam us with videos of the before and afters. Be the person to give us 2025 G63 content where it’s sparse online lol. Interior and exterior sound clips. I get my 2025 G63 in two months and I’m still not sure what to get.

That’s the sound while tuned though, because the Brabus G63s are tuned for performance. So it’s not representative of a stock G63 with just the Brabus system.
