For those who ordered a 2027, did you have any issues with a constraint on the dash cam? I should be getting my build date this week, but my sales manager said they are waiting to hear from MB about whether the dash cam will be constrained for 2027. She said my build was approved by MB and getting a build date very soon, but they were getting back to her about the dash cam. I am not really sure what this means, but curious if others heard this as well. I will report back to what she says. I know I did not put it as an option on my current 2025 G wagon, but I added it later via the MB App and it works great.

Interesting that the dash cam would be on constraint as I thought it was a software activation using surround cameras.

if not available fitcam X has released an updated version for 2025+. Not as good as integrated but a nice second option.

In terms of dashcam, any recommendation for front and rear dash cams that also come with battery unit/standalone power source that can basically do 24/7 surveillance? Mostly for parking on the street for a few hours or so. Thanks!

Yes, as far as I know it was just software activation with a one-time charge of $200. I just ordered it on the MB App under my profile and it works great for my needs. Hopefully the constraint does not mean it is not available at all, and just can't be ordered with the vehicle, but an add on later. We will see.

It is a software activation, but it is linked to the AR navigation feature, and that camera has sporadically not been available for orders in the last few years.

On the old-gen MBUX I believe it was also linked to the "high-end" control unit, so either that or the camera are likely the real constraint.

Thank you, that makes sense. I was wondering if it was an actual hardware issue. I will keep everyone posted as I learn more.... Also, if others have information on this please post. My final build order did go through with it and was accepted, so not sure what is going on... I should hear from my sales manager today or tomorrow with a build date since my order was just accepted and a PO assigned.

Does anyone have more information on the Manufaktur Two-Finish package (DB8)?

I assume that MB will offer 3-4 color combinations analogous to Maybach but the 2027 color guide did not include examples.

Hi. I wanted to report back that my sales manager just called to let me know my build date for my 2027 G63 order is scheduled for May 11, 2026. I will keep everyone posted.... Let me know if you would like me to make a new thread for those who ordered 2027s and we can keep each other posted of build dates, production finish dates, vessel transport, VPC timing, transport, and delivery dates.

It just seems to be the same paint scheme as the special edition 2 finish black from last year (half gloss and half magno).

I think it’s interesting how that was about a $50k MSRP premium for that special edition model and now it can be ordered for around $4k. I saw it in person and maybe it is worth the $4k but certainly not the $50k they asked for last year.

we will be on the same vessel most likely. My production date is may 13th. I can’t believe it’s going this quick. Crazy to have a 2027 model car by July most likely.

That's great, I love comparing timing with others who have a similar build dates. I am also a bit surprised that the build date is next month and these were just ordered and accepted. For my 2025, I placed the order in mid-December 2024 with a mid-April 2025 build date, which got moved to March 26, 2025. I took delivery on May 10, 2025. Let's see if this time beats that timing.

I am actually going to create a new thread so we can post build dates, end of production, waiting on vessel, on vessel, port arrival, VPC clear, transport, and delivery. Looking forward to keeping in touch.

My 27 was pushed this week from 04/30 to 05/05.

Amazing considering I still have a 26 sitting at the port waiting on a vessel.

That is amazing. So, it looks like a few of us have build dates in early-mid May. I did make a new post for 2027 orders to track the progress, etc. if you want to join. Thanks!

My S.A. just informed me that it will be the same black half gloss and half magno from the last special edition 2 and will cost $15,500.

Ended up passing on a 27 allocation for now from my dealer, loving my 2026. Thinking I'll take a go at 28 if 1) the new steering wheel with the barrel scroll knobs comes and 2) if the flat plane crank V8 makes it way to G63

Any new allocation is still super exciting, will be vicariously enjoying the anticipation from those receiving theirs!

I could not help but notice you've had a new G63 ever year (HoDog). I heard that is the play with this car. Would you or anyone else like to share how this works and what is the average cost/yr once you have your first one in hand? Thank you for sharing.

I’ve worked with three dealers, all at Msrp.

Now I’m basically alternating between two dealers, getting an allocation every other year from each.

For the last two it has settled out to be around $700-800 a month depreciation for trade in, usually around 3-4k miles.

WOW! That is crazy good!!! That means that the dealers are also giving you a good price on the trade in, I would assume if you get 3-4k miles out of those cars and only spend on average 7-800/month for the life of that car. I am hoping to have the same luck after getting my first one soon. I am somewhat worried though that with MB putting out the Cabriolet and the mini versions this year as well as increasing production on the G63 itself, that the dealers may try to screw us on the returning trade value to them. Thank you again for the info.
