..............G55 K3. Work was finished 11/18/05. Added Camshaft and larger throtle body. Ran 13.07 two weeks ago when my car was K2. Took car to track today. Truck still needes to addapt to new mods. Not only did I beat my best time. I got a 12.98 in the 1/4 mile. You shoulda seen the smile on my face. Below are the timeslips. My slowest run was 13.09. My truck is vehicle # 61. This thing is incredible.

yea, i love g classes especially the tuned up ones. I hope that mercedes will one day make a g600 or some kind of v12 G class, because there are tuning companies such as brabus or lorinser, but their prices are like 300K. It would most likely be like 175k or something from MB.

........no. I still do not know how to do that. I ran the same way as I did two weeks ago when my car was K2..........which is to put the car in dyno mode. I understand that people have said this should deactivate ESP, but it doesn't. With K3 package, my car pulls incredibly hard off the line. This is the difference I have noticed so far. My last dyno when car was K2 showed 460 HP at the wheels and 524lb ft of torque. If you pick drive train loss of 25% then the K2 has 613Hp and 700lb ft of torque. LINK I am yet to dyno it since K3. If I can bring my 60ft time down even more, who knows this might be a mid 12 truck.

...........the unmodified 2005 G55 does 0-60 in under five seconds with mid 13's in quatermile. It is significantly faster than the GV12 by brabus. With the K3 package you are talking about performance in supercar category. So G600 will be a slow car in comparison. Now if they make a G65, then the K3 will have some competition.

unbelievable! That's so fast Ted and some great driving too. I can't wait for the weather in Seattle to get better so I can start doing the 1/4 in my G. It's proven itself on the road rally but I can only hope to get close to your times on the strip. I wonder if the Kleemann cams could be bolted on to my 5.8 motor

nothing I like to see more than a big heavy merc going fast as hell, always makes me smile, and were you going to do the kleeman engine mods, where they bore it out and stuff.

..........thanks. That particular modification is best suited for NA AMG V8 engines prior to 2003. It is a way to get out of those engines because they already have a pretty high compression ratio. The AMG V8K engines post 2003, all have lower compression and the s/c's run at considerably high boost of 14psi. Having it bored out may actually do the reverse. So, no. My G55 is probably capable of Mid 12's I am happy with it in that league.

............thanks. I replaced my 03 G55 with the 05 with the specific goal of getting the W463 chasis into the 12's for the first time. Very happy it worked out.

...........you are probably just being funny at my expense. Yes it was a great thrill getting the G55 into the 12's. I am sure the Guiness book of world Records have more important things to enter into their books. For me it was a fun project. My best time on my 03 G55 was 14.1 even with s/c headers etc. At the track I see people who love cars who labor all year to get just another 0.2sec improvement in their 1/4 mile times. We talk about it and congratulate each other. I guess it is something you have to be part of to understand.

Ted, chill: I'm dead serious. No-one can appreciate a G55 more than I, let alone a souped-up one.

Brabus have several Guinness titles for e.g. their 12cyl ML, 12cyl E-Class. And other car manufacturers or tuners as well. Guinness World Records is especially for a mobile-phone-booth that can do the Q-mile in the 12s.

hey I think I know you man, were you the one that had the friend riding with you that had busted his m5. If so I was the guy driving the light blue m5. Your truck is major fast and what ever happened with your tuners and hte e55? if your arent who i think you are then my apologies.

....its a small world afterall. Yep. His M5 is fixed now. We were able to run an 11.993 that night on the E55. Your M5 is beautifl. Thanks for the compliment on the G55.

The word out of Alfalterbach is a G65 AMG was tested last year, but the data has not been analyze as of yet. The AMG folks don't believe there is a market for it, so maybe if all you guys continue to send inquiries to MB they may change their minds.

The small German market for high performance G-Class simply tune theirs with the (Detuned Version) Brabus GV12 Bi-Turbo.

congratulations on your achievements - and especially on that 1.89 60ft time. I know how hard it is to nail down a a.8 second 60ft on my E55, and while I have done some faster, I certainly have many lauches slower than 1.9

I am so impressed - that heavy wagon screaming down the strip must a be a sight to behold - keep up the good work.

The price to have a current 6L MBZ biturbo V12 dropped into a G-wagon at AMG Manufaktur is quite hefty, as well.

Rumour has it that I will find out exactly how hefty in just about a month....
