K1/K2 Pricing & Availability?

Hi everyone, I have a new G55 Grand Edition that I'm going to be picking up this weekend; it's my first Benz and my first vehicle with this kind of power. I really want to increase the power just a little more to stomp out the remaining sports cars the G55 can't beat stock. I was wondering where you would normally go to get the Kleemann K1 or K2 installed? Will the local dealer do it or do you have to travel to a specialist? What kind of costs are involved with those specific options for a 2005 G55 if anyone can share?

Thanks,

David

Might help if you advised your location in order to help recommend an installer. And no, your local MB dealer will not install any aftermark engine mods to your car. And yes, only a designated Kleemann dealer should complete the install. http://www.kleemannusa.com/

I'm in Tampa, FL. Kleemann had two listings somewhat close by, one in Tampa but their website made it look more like they just do anything to a car that someone pays them to do, and an actual Mercedes dealer in Sarasota which is why I was wondering if any dealer would do it.

I quite seriously recommend that you put a couple of thousand miles of varied driving on it before you perform any mods....

Oh no doubt, I'm just doing the research now. I've got my eye on some nice Asanti wheels (don't worry, no 26's) and some stereo upgrades first, this would probably be four or five months out once I've broken it in.

Not true, Laurel Mercedes did sell and install Renntech performance kits before they were bought out by Autonation. They did them for many years.
They cant/wont do them now as they are owned by such a corporate giant and that just wouldnt be PC for the "firm"..
Smart choice in waiting after you do some serious break in miles.
Kleeman is real good, I have always went with Renntech though.

I took a G55 out for a test drive last weekend; they had it come in for someone else that had pre-ordered. Supposedly I got one of the last two unsold grand editions in the country, mine's coming down to Florida from Massachusetts (don't know if I belive all that last two stuff but that's what the dealer told me). The sales person handling the other deal had hidden the keys since he knew everyone would want to drive it but the manager got him to give them up since I was buying the same thing. I just drove it up and down the street adjacent to the dealer but did get on it a little and it definitely had some power and has gotten me very anxiously awaiting mine. It's already got more than enough power for me, I just figure I'm already spending the money on an SUV with a nonsensical amount of power to begin with, might as well put the K2 on it and have it ready to rip that many more super cars. LOL
