I posted the below question on another MB website a couple weeks ago:
"Has anyone heard of any changes to next years model (G-Class) coming to the US? It seems to me we got a PR by now ... and every year there are at least some modest changes"
It got 71 Views ... but 0 Replies
I hope you get a better response

Here is a little information that someone posted today out of Stuttgart:
http://media.daimler.com/dcmedia/0-9...0-0-0-0-0.html
I realize that MBUSA does not always get the same things as the rest of the world ... so I will have to wait

ya mar7aba, honestly AD i dont think there are going to be any changes due to the fact that they just facelifted the G 55, oo you probably know how the g 55 likes to keep its "classic" look. bas in my opionon i hope they have "keyless go" and put a panorimic roof on it. that will give me more of a incentive to buy one than my e 63

I doubt there is any difference between the 09 and 10 G55's. The 09 was a facelift so I would expect they kept it the same for at least 2-3 years.
Save your money and get an 09.

A friend at Daimler confirmed the above press release...the 2010 G-Class will have upgraded interior options and materials, along with some enhanced telematics.

Gargash told me they expect production of 2010 models to begin in October and deliveries in late December or early Jan; but I haven't verified this information as I don't trust most salesmen to validate their info...most of the time they are just guessing.

AD_G55, you're right. Daimler just confirmed production starts in September and first deliveries in December to GCC. They also told me that the GCC spec 2010 G55 will have as standard the new leather covered dash, interior ambient lighting, and chrome package. Also, they gave me details on the new seats which I've summarized below:
- Same multi-contour front seats as the new 2010 E-Class (W212), but modified for the G-class
- Fully electric controls with revised lumbar support
- Optional ventilated seats have been improved to enhance airflow and cooling
- Some safety features from E-Class front seats not available in G-Class (PRE-SAFE, NECK-PRO, and seat-mounted airbags)
- Seat controls are from the new E-Class, better looking.
- Rear seat and rear head restraints improved to match new front seats
- If a standard leather is used, ruffled door panels replaced with smooth matching leather on the upper panels, and synthetic leather on the lower door panels and tailgate.
- If designo leather specified, than the door panels have matching ruffled leather.
Trying to get pictures, but that's all I was able to find out so far.

If the US dealers have any 'say so' we won't see a 2010 model. I haven't seen MBNA sales for 2009 however, I'd be real surprised if more then 50 units were sold to date.

Mercedes has sold around 150-200 G-Class vehicles in the US so far in 2009, which is down about 50% compared to the previous year. More details here:

But just to respond to AGR, from what I've been told the 2010 model is definitely coming to the US.

Last time I checked, finding parking in AD is a royal pain, and having a car which is capable of parking in...well...non standard places like foot paths and sand is very useful. Also, in the summer, the ventilated seats in the G55 are a life saver. The Maserati is a great second car, the way my Aston V8 Vantage is for me...but if I had to chose only one it would always be my G55.
