Hey Chirenj.

As far as I know the brake system fits on every G-Class, since this car never entirely changes. I found some prices here, I dont know if it is expensive or not. Nevertheless it looks like the brake system of kelvin. You could contact them, if the system fits.

..... The calipers are made by BREMBO. They are the same calipers used in GL63 and ML63. The calipers themselves do not fit directly on the G-class. They require a set of brackets. Where did you get this bracket? Thanks.

.......every after market big break kit uses a bracket to attach the calipers to the car, including the shiny AMG breaks and brabus brakes. It's not wimpy piece. It is what bolts the caliper to the outer hub of the car.the part numbers for the red G63 calipers are A1664214098 for the right side and A1664214298 for the left side. These calipers already come with the removable brackets attached to the caliper. But the holes to attach the brackets to the outer hub of the car do not line up. So it is either those are the wrong brackets or Mercedes re-engineered the outer hub of the car which although possible is not likely

......I think the op is mistaken, the bracket is a hefty piece. It is not ordinarily something a brake shop will create. Big break kits are usually sold with the correct brackets to fit the caliper to the care. Here is an example, here is a brabus big brake caliper. The silver looking piece is the removable bracket

Hi Kelvin, where did you get your calipers from? Is yours a ML/GL 63 part number and modified for your G or is it a G63 part?

I am thinking of buying this caliper too.

Kelvin

I brought it from a mercteil. I don't know if it is g63 part number. I don't think it's a problem cos they are the same I think. But my disc is g63 part number for sure. I am waiting for the rear to arrive also the g63 front brake is positioned differenly comparing to our g .

Ted
The part number for the above is for G63/G65? Or did you order using ML63? Because your part number starts with 166, which means its an ML part number. Could that be the reason why the the brackets do not fit because its a ML63 bracket? I found the calipers for part no. xxx908, but xxx298 part number does not exist.

I am sure they do not fit without modification.
I know many people use (Carbon Ceramic) SLS AMG Brake Kits for the new G-Class with few modifications. I have to ask which modifications those exactly were, but it works. So maybe you have to modify!

I am planning to get it from Mercteil too. What brackets did you have to custom make? It was not a direct fit for you?

.......it is the correct part number. I know what you mean. I ordered it with a G63 vin. At the dealer, tit cross references to the 166 part number. The calipers then come stock, with the ML63 brackets. All that is needed is to swap to the correct G63 brackets, but no one has a part number for it separately.

I found the G63 part number, its A463 421 1198 and a463 421 1298 for the right and left calipers respectively. Why don't you check it with the dealer and ask them to compare if there any description difference between the G and ML part numbers. Maybe it will give us a clue why the brackets do not fit.
