Just got one!!!
Well, my wife was over her 2013 Cayenne GTS due to all the eggs in the tires and flats we got. We live uptown in New Orleans, pot hole city! We were down to either the 2014 ML63 or 2014 GL63 as our dealer had both on hand. We had a G63 on order but the sales manager had no ETA and said it might be in by May or June but no guarantee. We test drove the GL and ML back to back and went home for lunch to discuss. We decided on the ML63 (it's a bat outta hell and still a more comfortable ride than the Cayenne) We have our first child on the way and didn't need all the room in the GL. On the way to the dealership we got a text from the sales manager that they just got a used 2013 G63 in. It had 880 miles and was silver ext with black/pearlescent gray interior with diamond stitching and black AMG rims. We paid just under $125k. Plus it had extended warranty when the factory warranty runs out. Was it a good deal?
Also I hat the walnut wood trim. Is it hard to swap out for black wood or carbon fiber trim?
Thanks,
Rob
P.s. The ride is a little rough but we drive over the potholes worry free in this tank/beast!

Congrats! $125K for a 880 miles 2013 G63 is a very good price, especially with the exclusive leather package. Post some pics when you have a chance.

The only thing I hate is the wood trim. I don't know what the guy who ordered this was thinking. Should have had carbon fiber or black piano finish. I had the dealership look up the cost of OEM replacement but so far, they couldn't find the parts. Apparently they're hard to come by. Anyone swapped them out?
Thanks,
Rob

I would've gone with the ML with a baby coming along. I find that fitting child seats in the ML is a much better fit in the rear with isofix seats. Also there is not much leg room for kids in baby seats at the back. They can touch the back of the front seats easily.
Closing those heavy door might wake up a sleeping infant.
Side note, kids love the G when they grow up due to the better view from up high.

BlackSL,
Your are correct, but you're thinking logically. I thought the GL63 was the smoothest ride of them all, especially with the pot holes in the city. The ML63 was the fastest, least expensive of the 3 and still rode very well. My wife on the otherhand doesn't think about these things logically, she thinks with her heart first and her head last. She loved the G63 PERIOD. I told her all the reasons not to get it and to be honest, I'm 6'2" and the seating isn't very comfortable for me. The drivers seat is too upright and doesn't go back far enough so my legs feel cramped, but the heart wants what the heart wants and she loved the G63 so she got it. I have my SL550 and I'm happy so we'll see how it pans out. Hopefully, since I got a good deal I won't loose much in 9-12 months when the new gets "knocked" off it and she's over it and wants something else.

With 3 kids I have to think logically
Should've thought logically before I decided on having more kids....
But yeah, the GL is awesome. The only gripe I have is the entry to the 3rd passenger seats. Have to remove the car seats every time.
We have a Toyota MPV (Alphard) and that is also pretty not carseat friendly.
Thinking of selling the ML and the GL for a Toyota Noah a smaller MPV.
If only there was a car that can carry kids, look nice and be awesome to drive....

V8Plus4,
Yes, it's palladium silver. Thanks! Wanted to go Carbon Fiber, but hard to find the parts. The wood is slowly growing on me. Still I'd perfer carbon fiber or black wood.

I WALK...
wow. Beautiful and a great deal. How do you like it vs. the Cayenne GTS?
I'd buy the G63 for that price as well especially with those options. Been looking but haven't found one in that price range.

940,
Completely different than the GTS. Better on potholes but doesn't handle worth a darn. Faster in a straight line than the GTS and more intimidating, plus you don't see as many G's around as Cayenne's.
BlackSL,
As an update, just traded the SL550 for a 2014 ML63 and LOVE IT!!!! had to do something for the baby as I think your right about the G63 being to harsh and obviously my SL too small. The ML63 is just right!

Well... she loves the looks she gets driving the truck.... but she LOVES driving the beast!!! Way more comfortable in the ML63 over pot holes and bad roads in Uptown New Orleans.
