G63 Spare wheel position

Probably posted this before in the wrong section, posting here as well!

Hello guys, just got my G63 AMG and I noticed the spare wheel is sitting a bit too low vs what I've seen often on other cars

Is there a different setting I can have by removing the wheel and moving the bracket?

In case, can anyone send me instructions to do it?

Many thanks for the help,
Max

P.s. This is how my car looks right now

This is how I'd like it to be:

Quite interesting. Never heard of this before but I do prefer it sitting low

They are the same, accept the photo is taken from a different angle. I've owned 5 G-wagons and the spare wheel mounting position has been exactly the same on all 5.

Solved the mistery myself!

They are not the same, I removed the spare wheel, removed the bracket and you can actually turn the bracket in a slightly different position to let the wheel sit a bit higher (as in picture #2)

I've owned 2 Gs myself and the first one had the wheel in "high" position while this one was in "low" position...hence my question!

You can see by yourself, easy mod, took me 20 mins!

Awesome
Now maybe someone here can help me. I got ADV wheels for my 14 G63 and bought all 5 so that I could put the 5th wheel on the rear door, now I know original cover won't fit on the new adv wheel that I got. Originally the wheel on the rear door faces the car but I want to mount it so the front of the wheel faces the street without any covers. Does anybody know where I could get a different bracket or long bolts so that I can have the wheel mounted facing out????
Thanks all.

It will serve as a spare if needed.

To each his own, but why would you want it higher?? Surely there will be less visibility (both via rear view mirror and maybe even from the camera) and you'll see more of that ugly spare wheel every time you look into the rear view.

Hubert - Post some pics of the new wheels and let us in on the spare solution if you find one. From the looks of the G55 below, they just mounted the wheel outward on the stock mount. I suspect certain backspacing could cause problems, but it appears doable.

The higher mount is for larger tires.

tbh I would recommend to take away the spare wheel. The reason behind this, is that the wheel itself is heavy, and it is a constant problem with all of g classes, that at some point the weight of the wheel makes back door loose, and in some cases paint around door lock cracks. However it is of course matter of taste
