I recently purchased some G63 side mirrors with a power folding function. Has anyone done this upgrade and had any success getting the folding function to work? From other forums it appears I need a new switch and some coding? Any ideas which model switch or power requirements? I will pay for this info, I have looked everywhere!

I had a 2004 G55 and upgraded my mirrors myself AND got fold function to work when locking vehicle. I was unable to make them fold otherwise but it was not really necessary. It was quite simple really, I had NO knowledge of what to do or how to do it but mirrors came with not so clear paperwork but it all worked. I can help you any way I can. I am sure I have pictures of the process and what wires I connected.

I looked through my pictures that far back and did not take any of the installation process. Let me know, I might still can help you through it if you send me pictures of wiring and connections. I remember, it was not difficult at all.

How did you get rid of the error code? Resister? There are 2 extra sets of wires , blue and yellow on one pair and red and black on the other...Im assuming red and black are for folding? Did you wire these into the lock actuator? THANK YOU SO MUCH!

I am toying with the idea of adding power folding mirrors as well. I see where a Russian on YouTube has done this and I have read on other forums where someone contacted him, and the only thing needed (so the story goes) is a headlight switch from a C-Class (Part# A2035450704) and supposedly it was all plug and play. I don't really see the need for folding mirrors unless I am locking the car so I would be interested if Nicholas Cantu could pop back on here and add anything he can remember to how he got everything to work with just the locks.

I went ahead and bought the mirrors. I plan on adding this switch I found on Amazon with RETract and EXTend markings. I'll mount it to the right of the light switch sort of under the steering wheel. I DO NOT want the mirrors to fold every time I lock the G... Just when I want them folded when space is tight. I will install when my Carbon fiber mirror covers arrive this week.

Did you have to wire both of the mirrors to the switch for them to fold? I'm toying with the idea of adding the power folding mirrors and just wanted to see how difficult it is. Would love to see any pictures or any tips if anyone has. Thanks.

I blew the trans in my G so it is in the shop right now... As soon as I get it back and it warms up a little... I will post what I do. I ended up getting a much smaller switch from DigiKey.
