2025 G63, is it possible to purchase at MSRP?
Looking to buy my first mercedes in the form of a 2025 G63, tried about ten dealers and they want 25-70k over MSRP which to me is kind of a grey area.
Is this norm for these SUVs?
Is there a way to get one at a reasonable price?
Thanks!
JC
If I were to try to buy a new one today, the 25k markup one you heard isnt a bad deal versus waiting years plus future price increases. Also you can offer on purchase day to put in a deposit to get on the list for another allocation in the future at MSRP, then when the next model is released you will be one of the first to aquire it with no markup.
Totally agree with @SLS here; it does take a concerted effort, though know there are dealers out there that will sell G63s for MSRP, particularly custom builds. One needs luck and patience as there is bound to be a wait at most dealers for a build slot / allocation to become available -- that said, with a sufficiently broad search, am confident you will find a dealer willing to work with you.
Not certain in which part of the U.S. you are located, but if you are interested in working with a dealer in the Pacific Northwest, feel free to PM me and I would be happy to provide a handful of dealers from my earlier searches whose policy is to sell custom orders at MSRP or who are willing to negotiate considerably on dealer markup. Best of luck to you!

Roughly 15 months ago I contacted multiple dealers and found three here in the Pacific Northwest which either had a policy of selling custom orders at MSRP or were willing to waive the markup after negotiating. All three involved a wait for an allocation to become available, two of which were pretty substantial.
Given the price increase for 2026 and overall economy, I do think it is possible in most markets to achieve MSRP or close to it with some calling around or emailing, plus a bit of patience and luck. Certainly realize there are some areas like Southern California where that will be quite difficult, though, unless one is a VIP at a dealer.

That would be a substantial discount on a G63 and more than pay for the trip. Whats the MSRP anyway?
Side note, I was at the Walnut Creek CA dealership in May of 2025 and they had a whole a whole showrroom full of new
G wagons. Not idea on markups.

Haven't purchased a merc before and have yet to go to a dealership. Would like to know more about how bad it's going to be to do business with them before I take the time to go and meet someone.
Any/all advice would be appreciated

We did have a fairly long service relationship with this dealer but had not purchased a vehicle from them previously. There was a wait involved for a build slot to become available, although the dealer was great about keeping us informed throughout.
Certainly realize our experience was probably not typical and we feel very fortunate that it worked out the way it did.
Not sure which part of the U.S. you are in, but I would recommend calling around in your state and perhaps a couple of neighboring states to see what markup they are currently charging and if any dealers have a policy of selling custom orders at MSRP. Will send you a PM shortly with three dealers from my search in summer 2024 in case the info. is helpful.
