Chrome headlight rings are fine, but complete chrome outlining is just overkill! Talk about an overload on badges! LOL

It used to be that chrome was synonymous with luxury and prestige. Apparently someone felt that Mercedes didn't include quite enough brightwork on their SL-500. Here we have an attempt to recitfy that situation.
This gem wears enough stick-on chrome to make a conversion van proud! It's rumored that two conversion vans had to be sacrificed in order to provide enough metallic strips! Apparently there was no need center the meaningless 'SL5' on the bow.
Check out how well the chrome strips blend! They almost line up with the body lines of the car! This guy must have received a Pep Boys gift certificate for Christmas....
Any ideas as to what the emblem is below the turn indicator lamp?
Not just one 500SL emblem - but two! And an added Mercedes moniker (lest you confuse it with a Daewoo).
Funding must have been tight once our hero reached the passenger side as there is only a single nameplate.
Nothing says class like door edge guards, fender guards, and chrome appliqué surrounding the windscreen! But where are the rain gutters and curb feelers?
The mystery is over! It's the SL-500 2 - with the added performance of AC Schnitzer. It's heartening to see at least one performance enhancing element!
