Please help...I think I was ripped off!!

I was cleaning the inside of my 2001 S500 after just purchasing it about a week ago when I noticed a receipt for a safety check and oil change. The mileage on the reciept was 93,000 km, and the receipt was issued in Aug 2003. I just bought this car a week ago with 103,000 km. So that means this car was only driven 10,000 km for the last 21 months...I smell an odometer rollback.
How can I prove this?

Here is my VIN if someone has any ideas:

WDBNG75J01A168694

I didn't purchase the car from a Mercedes Dealership.

Did the owners change between august and now? If it did change, maybe the new owner only drove it on weekends or something. Just a thought

It just gets better...So like I said i have only had the car for a week and a half. Turns out after doing some research with the help of the Toronto Police Auto Squad, that my car had front end damage totalling $20,000.00!!!!!!! To make it even sweeter...the KM were deffinately rolled back. I spoke with a Mercedes Manager in Halifax and he told me that they have the car at 101326km in December 2003, and like I said I just purchased the car with 103000km. 1700km in 17 months...I f***** doubt it!!
Now what...any ideas!!

The dealership is kind of giving me the run around...Telling me I should have looked into this stuff prior to purchasing the car.
I've had the car less then two weeks...I want my money back!
I've threatend to get a lawyer but, didn't get a reaction at all.
The leasing company who I leased the car through is very big and trustworthy...so i'm giving the dealership till tomorrow to give me my money back or I'm calling the leasing company. I'm sure they would be happy to hear what condition the car the OWN is in!

If i'm not mistaken every CarFax report has some type of Buy Back Guarantee. If you did a report contact CarFax and let 'em know what's up. They might help you out

I just left a message for CarFax. I have a feeling they're going to give me the run around though....proof, proof, proof they'll say!

Well in the US, according to most insurance companies a police report serves as proof. So as long as you can get a hold of a police report stating the date of that accident... if it wasn't reported on CarFax, i think CarFax should have to buy it back. But of course they probably have some stipulations in small print where they can get themselves out of any situation. You may have to get a lawyer for this one. A former employee of mine was our secretary/paralegal and he told me that he once got a car for free when they didn't report that the car had prior damage. But I know for sure that a Police Report serves as evidence. At least to insurance companies, cuz that's the proof we've given to them whenever any of our businesses have been robbed. Good Luck man! I hope everything works out as good as they did for my former employee and you get the car for free!

If you can prove the mileage was rolled back then it is fraud. It's possible it sat around for a while getting the damage repaired and the mileage is accurate. I agree it doesn't sound like it, but you need proof. MB should be able to run a service report for you and if it was serviced by MB with mileage above what it shows then your battle is over.

In my region, roll back the odometer on benz platform is just for 50 bucks.

2002-on E/S-class would cost $400 tho.

Here is carfax's response:
