Please help...I think I was ripped off!!
I was cleaning the inside of my 2001 S500 after just purchasing it about a week ago when I noticed a receipt for a safety check and oil change. The mileage on the reciept was 93,000 km, and the receipt was issued in Aug 2003. I just bought this car a week ago with 103,000 km. So that means this car was only driven 10,000 km for the last 21 months...I smell an odometer rollback.
How can I prove this?
Here is my VIN if someone has any ideas:
WDBNG75J01A168694
I didn't purchase the car from a Mercedes Dealership.

It just gets better...So like I said i have only had the car for a week and a half. Turns out after doing some research with the help of the Toronto Police Auto Squad, that my car had front end damage totalling $20,000.00!!!!!!! To make it even sweeter...the KM were deffinately rolled back. I spoke with a Mercedes Manager in Halifax and he told me that they have the car at 101326km in December 2003, and like I said I just purchased the car with 103000km. 1700km in 17 months...I f***** doubt it!!
Now what...any ideas!!

The dealership is kind of giving me the run around...Telling me I should have looked into this stuff prior to purchasing the car.
I've had the car less then two weeks...I want my money back!
I've threatend to get a lawyer but, didn't get a reaction at all.
The leasing company who I leased the car through is very big and trustworthy...so i'm giving the dealership till tomorrow to give me my money back or I'm calling the leasing company. I'm sure they would be happy to hear what condition the car the OWN is in!

MBWorld Fanatic!
If you can prove the mileage was rolled back then it is fraud. It's possible it sat around for a while getting the damage repaired and the mileage is accurate. I agree it doesn't sound like it, but you need proof. MB should be able to run a service report for you and if it was serviced by MB with mileage above what it shows then your battle is over.
