Nothing makes me happier then to see someone's pissed of face at me. I dont think that im rich for having the car or think im better then the next person, but the person that is giving the dirty looks doesnt seem to think that. And i think its sooo DAMN funny.

LMAO, most of the people who drive MB spend their lives with credit cards maxed out paying things one month at a time like alot of other people.

Well I'm 16 driving a 95 w124 e320.The very first day I took it out, I got about 3 dirty looks.Just as I'm parking I see two people muttering something while looking at me.I'm very grateful to my parents for what they have done to me, and I'm not a flamboyant person when it comes to the car.I just try to ignore all the haters.

Yeah, exactly. Don't brag about it or you'll have people pranking your car.
And park in semi-spacious areas. Not too spacious or your car might be singled out.

Quote: Well I'm a new owner of a 1999 C230 Kompressor and I'm 21. I got my car in the end of feb. For the record, I bought the car. It's not daddy's ride that I'm abusing like some of the kids in my area. Well anyways, I'm wondering if any of you young MB drivers ever encounter any kinds of probs like getting pulled over often by the police. I've gotten randomly stopped twice already in the last 2 months. If I drive at night and cops spot me, I'm sure to be stopped. I usually get tailed by the cops and starred at by random people, whether I'm dressed nice or like a bum comming from the gym, it's always the same.
Is this something that comes with the car? Or is age a factor? I really don't want to consider race but my parents are from Bangladesh (next to India) so I'm brown guy lol. I live in Montreal in Canada which happens to be a very diverse city so I really really don't want to consider people being racist.
Anyways, would love to get some feedback.
I get alot of looks and everything when I use to drive my C280 but hey you're driving a Benz . Don't worry about it, I can't really say why you've been pulled over or what ever the reason. Just smile, drive and enjoy.

Very nice.

When comparing one thing with another you may find that one is more appealing “than” another. “Than” is the word you want when doing comparisons. But if you are talking about time, choose “then“: “First you separate the eggs; then you beat the whites.” Alexis is smarter than I, not “then I."

I had a dark brown 420SEL with black wheels with double limo tint all around as well as dark on my windshield. I got pulled over as a suspected drug dealer, searched my car for 2 hours. This was when I was 19.

I'm now in my 20's and have had a 03 CL500 with Brabus rims/exhaust, never got hassled. Right now I have a W220 S430 with black rims/ double limo and I don't get hassled at all. Where I live the nicer cars usually get over looked unless you bring attention to yourself.

I have many friends with custom range rovers, mercedes, M5's, you name it and even a buddy with a Ferrari all my age. Bottom line is WHY CARE what others think. I get looks in my car because it stands out among the normal but thats why you can't see in either.

I drove a 2000 Celica before my MB. It was completely stock except for tint and suspension. I've never been pulled over in general, but in the celica I'd always get trailed and watched by Cops. They'd run my plate, see my record, and leave. But the day I got my C230, I haven't seen a Cop behind me since.

Your age shines through in this post...

The type of car (or lack thereof) a person drives is probably the most inaccurate way of measuring a persons financial security.

My salesman was telling me about a customer of his looking to trade in his 2002 S-class that he purchased in 2003 for a new W221. Back then, he couldn't qualify for a lease so he ended up financing. He put as little down as possible and is financing the rest at 18% over 72 months. The moron is upside down in this worthless car... has depreciated even faster ever since the launch of the new S-class.

I would say this guy represents the average "nice car" guy you see driving down American streets more than anything else.

Agreed, but we still all judge people on what car they drive, and financially is sometimes part of that judgement.

Probably because you have a neon kit under your car and your hat is on sideways.

I get alot of hate where I live for driving a mercedes. And I dont show it off either ((though After this week it will seem like im showing it off))

Im 18, a senior in highschool. I get paid 1,300 each month. I leave june 19th for the Air Force. I own a 2005 C230K, FULLY paid off, with no help from my mother.
And I just took out a 5k loan this week to drop a bunch of mods in for a car show coming up in a month and 2 weeks.

People make fun of it, say it was stupid, rag on me, basically, i get a ton of hate. I just kinda ignore it. I just dont udnerstand what everyones problem is. In order to get my car, I had to loose my father to cancer.

Know what I drove before the mercedes? A Focus given to me by my grandmother ((totalled a week after I got my liscence, "friend" pulled ebrake on ice and we rolled it 5 times and flipped once)) and then a dodge neon i bought with the insurance money.
